The Wheel is Forever
It's possible you are wrong on every single one of your counts.
That''s very similar to mine but I'd change Lillee for Trueman. My team without restrictions:
Hobbs
Hutton
Bradman
Richards
Sobers
Gilchrist
Imran
Hadlee
Warne
Marshall
Lillee
lol sutcliffe ahead of gav and hammond (who!) ahead of srt
I would miss a day at work just to watch Wasim and Warne bowl in tandemHobbs
Trumper
Richards
Gower
Woolley
Sobers
Gilchrist
Wasim
Warne
Larwood
Donald
Probably outside the rules, and maybe not the best team ever, but a pretty damn good one and one which I'd miss work to watch play a Test match.
How dare you misspell his nameI think in opning batsman Sehwag will be included. In all rounnder Imran khan,in fast bowler wasim akram,Mc grath and courtny walsh,in spinner murlidharan and wicket keeper will be gilchirst.
cricket is not all about stats.I would love someone to explain why wasim is held is such great esteem. Statistically he wasnt even the best Pakistani fast bowler, Waquar and Imran both were better in almost every catergory. Of his era Donald, Ambrose and Mcgrath were better and more consistant match winners. Of all of the fast bowlers listed, he is the only one who was never rated no. 1 in the World and had the highest # of tailend wickets. 28% of all of his dismissals were the last 3 batsmen, and of all bowlers mentioned had the lowest percentage of top order batsmen dismissed. He was great, but in no wasy in the same conversation as Marshall, Imran, Mcgrath and Warne.
Thiscricket is not all about stats.
Personally I think Kallis > Sobers, Lara is unarguably the second greatest batsman ever, Allan Donald easily a top 5 paceman, and Lindwall > McGrath and Lillee in any XI on the basis of he could hold a bat to greater effect than those hacks.
Ha haPsssh.
Andy Flower is obviously one of the best keeper-batsmen ever-Oh wait, he is.
Malcolm Marshall is arguably the best fast bowler ever - Oh wait, he is
Kapil Dev is surely one of the ATG allrounders - Oh wait, he is
Things get a little tricker now though.
I mean, it's not like Alec Bedser got the greatest batsman the world 6 times in 17 innings...wait a minute...
Or that Ken Barrington has one of the top ten averages of all time or anything. Hold on a moment...
I'll claim that as fairly good going.
You love your aesthetically appealing types, don't you? Sureshot crowd pullers and that also reads like a very difficult team to beat.Hobbs

He looked better than he was. It pretty much just comes down to that.I would love someone to explain why wasim is held is such great esteem.
than his stats suggest! He looked better than he was. It pretty much just comes down to that.
yeah overall average figure can be misleadingPlus he could bat better than others and was the greatest left armer ever so added variety in such a team.
Don't think statistics compared to others do him justice too due to different factors.IIRC his average might have dropped a bit in the last few years where he carried on too long not the same bowler.
You're only as good as what you actually did. What people think you were capable of means nothing once you retire.than his stats suggest!
awtathan his stats suggest!
