Which was completely in line with the laws of the game? Kumar wasn't the first bowler to be taken out of the attack for running on the pitch. I'm pretty sure Jimmy Anderson's had this happen before, and fairly recently.

the 3rd warning was unjustified, he got away from the danger area after delivering teh ball. prob thats what dhoni had a chat with him about idk?
One thing is for sure that this incident is being blown way out of proportion..

Cone on Z, you are better than this. Those are pretty serious allegations and ,most here have said that IF true, Dhoni must be punished as all this is way over the line.


But the point is, is this true? You can't say anything definite before you have heard Dhoni's side. It is pretty obvious Harper is a bitter man at the moment... I am wondering why we are taking it for granted that Harper can't lie?

It's posts like this that spoil the environment on this forum. I think you are trying to have a go at me. If that's the case you can make your point directly rather than resorting to sarcasm. We can disagree on things without polluting the atmosphere. And I am not an idiot, I will see your point if you make it properly.

EDIT: and it's not like anyone is saying that the alleged on field behaviour should be condoned. But Dhoni is not a repeat offender which is why I doubt if the story is correct in entirety. For a repeat offender I would be more willing to think the allegation might be true.

Excuse me but are you really that naive to be not able to distinguish between an official complaint process and a captain intimidating the umpire on field or chastising him off the field ?

Has anyone here suggested that Dhoni should not have written about Harper in his official report ?

Kumar only had himself to blame for being removed from the attack, he was warned, and then had 2 official warnings, tough titties pal. Blaming the umpire for doing his job is absurd. The Indians seem to want to have on field umpires making all the decisions, but not those which are not in India's favour. Sour grapes indeed.

I am in complete agreement with this. I am tired of bowlers running on the pitch and then the captain/team/players complaining when the umpires take action.

It will be naive to assume that the bowlers unintentionally running of the pitch, I think ICC should come out with harsher punishment for bowlers and teams that engage in such a practice.

And ICC took England to task in that case and in Dhoni's case they did not and that is the double standard being mentioned here.

Agree with pretty much everything here. Clearly Dhoni's in the wrong, it's not the end of the world, he's human after all and I think it's also bloody clear that most people on both sides of the fence can't look at these kind of events from a disinterested point of view any more, which is a great shame.

Not really, India supporters are just getting back a fraction of the anti-Ponting hysteria we've had to endure from them since at least early 2008.

From what I have been seeing for a while now the Indian players seem to know very well that world cricket is virtually run by their own board so they can go about doing anything they want.

If careers of umpires are going to end for just having a bad game against the Indian team, then I guess its only a matter of time before world cricket loses all its good umpires.
