At the start of the English summer I would have said that England start as clear favourites but now things aren't looking that obvious. A pretty ordinary Sri Lankan batting line-up who are known to struggle in tests away from home really made the English bowlers work hard for their wickets and their task against the strong Indian line-up would be even more tougher.

India's problem is that they just don't seem to have that firepower in their bowling stocks to take 20 English wickets so the advantage their batting provides might get neutralized due to that. Though you would still expect England to put in some good bowling performances over the course of 4 test matches which might eventually hand them a series win, but if they fail to do so then we might see a lot of boring runs fests.

Now Athlai to sincerely support England here, so I can finally conclude that the two of you are definitely not the same person.
Don't really have any love for this English team. And while I hate the majority of the Indian attack, I do have a lot of love for their batting lineup (besides Dhoni).

Are England favourites? I haven't looked at the odds at all.
Favourites on bet365 (England 2.3, India 2.7) with the favourite score being 2-1.

Looking at sites from neutral countries, England are also 14/10 favourites on wsb (South African) and 2nd favourite, behind the draw, on sportsbet (Australian).

I thought Brumby said England were fairly clear favourites with the bookies? Have the odds shortened since then?

I'd like to sign up to Corrinbet and take whatever ridiculously long odds you're offering for India to score a run, thanks.
I'll give you 5000-1 that India score more than 12 runs.

However, I only accept bets in fingers and toes. So how much do you want it?

I see the English media has already billed this as the contest between the top 2 Cricketing sides. I wonder how South Africa feel about being shoved aside like that.

This is up there with the "England are gonna win the world-cup this time" routine the media subjects us to in practically all the sports they compete in....

I can't read anything on the English media these days without cringing.

I look forward to seeing them fall on their arse.....again (as usual). It gives me hope!

England will never be number 1 test playing nation again. I say that with quite a bit of confidence. If and when India relinquish the top spot, it will be to South Africa or some other worthy nation. What have England won...ever? Exactly my point. They are the perennial losers in every sport they compete in. It's in their blood.
If you're really in Singapore, then you have no real reason to read the English media.

But funnily enough, I've never read anything written by you without cringing.

Well if I bet 10 fingers and it happens, what do I get back? 50,000 fingers? What on earth would I do with that?
