is it me or Laxman has improved out of sight technically even at this late stage of his career a few years back he was quite vulnerable to an off cutter, inswinger now he rarely leaves a gap between his bat and pad.

batting lineup that can get over 200 should certainly help.
Can't help get the feeling that in the coming years, Bishoo, Rampaul and Roach/Fidel would be physically playing a huge role in that too.

1st Job - Score 100 runs among the last 4 to get your team upto 250.

2nd Job - Come out and bowl your heart out to dismiss the opposition for less than that

3rd Job - Repeat the above sequence for a series of 60 odd test matches while the "established" batsmen hog the limelight.

Yeah because playing the IPL and skipping test series isn't embarrassing. 8-)
it ain't
Us WIndies fans know that the team is crap, but at least Pakistan showed us the respect of sending us a more-or-less full strength team. But the level of contempt shown by half a dozen Indian cricketers towards Windies cricket has left quite a few of us with a sour taste in our mouths, and if we had any doubt about the upcoming series in England, this behaviour has convinced my friends and I to be England fans for this series in particular....

No matter how bad we were, Australia always fielded the best team possible to play the West Indies. That's why we feel that the teams of Mark Taylor, Steve Waugh and Ricky Ponting (yes, that Ponting!) have more class than this current Indian setup.

But that's just a WI view of India - you don't have to care one way or another. However, if this tour was designed to win fans of Indian cricket in the Caribbean, on the contrary, India have lost quite a few fans in the Caribbean.
you get what u deserve.... would've been colossal waste of time and energy to send a full s trength team... sorry... but thats truth...

This seems to back you up. He has been improving for a while now. He still looks astonished when he gets bowled though, it is one of my favourite sights.

Only IPL should have full strength teams. Best use of time and energy, clearly.

Just to build up on my previous post. There is a need (globally) for greater objectivity when it comes to understanding professional decisions. In matters of logic, head must take precedence over the heart.

India, England and South Africa may well be club-level teams 50 years from now. Could well be that Bangladesh lead world cricket then and feel that investing enough for a lowly-ranked India may not be worth their while.

It should be viewed as a hard-nosed professional decision and the fact that India produced Gavaskar and Tendulkar in the past should be none of Bangladesh's bloody concern when project economics and optimising national interests are concerned. It's the way of the world. If you are mediocre, you'd be brushed aside and the race must go on!

The key then lies on using that as a motivation and fighting to remain competitive. As I said previously, let no man assume that professional respect is his heaven-ordained birthright and realise the fact that it has to be earned the hard way.
bootiful post mate...

ipl is better co mpeted.....
I concur. It must be bloody hard for the players to concentrate on the cricket with all those cheerleaders doing their thing. It's much more of a test of your mental strength than **** like test cricket.

Kohli gets out!

Btw, a bit of an unrelated question, guys. Who's the Bengali-looking chick that keeps popping up in that Danube Build Mart advertisement?

She has occupied my mind more than Bishoo's spin, Rampaul's swing and VVS' strokeplay. Anyone knows?

Sammy has 2/32. He is just awful to watch but you have to admire that he is consistently finding wickets against some pretty able batsmen.
