Based on what, though? He got one fifty in the 7* match series, and one 50 in the WC. Only once did he come even close to batting through 'til the death overs. He got axed before the Ashes from the ODi's and imo has played better since.
James Taylor | England Cricket | Cricket Players and Officials | ESPN CricinfoIf you are going to drop someone the quality of KP then you must have a replacement who is just as good if not better than him. So I don't think he should be dropped. Form is temporary as the cliche goes.
I was talking in a general cricketing sense because he was out of form in test cricket as well.Based on what, though? He got one fifty in the 7* match series, and one 50 in the WC. Only once did he come even close to batting through 'til the death overs.
*7, not 70. Although it must have felt that way for the English
It's who I'd replace Bell with tbh.
Come on mate, Cook's only just started.Bring back Tresco really.

That would mean the ICC's recent ruling on runners affects #4's primarily. It would then make sense for teams to play their fittest player at #4.The primary job of a #4 is to rotate the strike well tbh.
Yes, agree with that and even though there's a lot of hype around Stokes, he could do with playing for the Lions a bit more before being called up so quickly, he's only just turned 20 and has only played 19 List A, games averaging 31, so I don't think Stokes is a replacement for KP. He's player I'd like gradually brought in but I think, it would be a bit unfair, on a few of these young guys, with so little experience, chucking them in, to be the new KP.Nah I wouldn't pick Hayden Christensen yet.
Absolutely no way would I drop Pietersen now. A couple of low scores but he looks in prime nick, can see a score coming later in the series (hoping tbh). If he has a poor series and starts poorly against India, only then would I consider because he would be wasting good form. Also we have noone else in that role to replace him. Taylor isn't the free-est scoring boundary hitter in the world - would rather see him trialled at 3 when Trott is 'rested' - but he rotates the strike well. The only person I can think of is Stokes and he's injured. Buttler's not ready and Hales should open.
2 things.Poll results only confirming how overrated htis chap is by the English posters here.
That's total bollocks, they're just aware of how weak the competition is, whereas you aren't.Poll results only confirming how overrated htis chap is by the English posters here.
