That's a great ball. Hopefully Ishant can produce a few of those later.

Dravid needs to bat a bit more positively here, with so much time already being taken out of the game.

It doesn't look like India is interested in forcing a win by declaring today. Of course given the pitch and the Windies batting, a win may still happen if there isn't too much rain. If India take a few early wickets WI could easily collapse in under two sessions.

Prince EWS and some others have said in the past that strike rates don't really matter...
yea right
:p
There are occasions when a slow strikerate can actually help more.. like Dravid wearing down the attack in the previous Test and cashing in later.. but surely there are more situations in Test cricket where it is more beneficial to score quicker IMO.

I agree. But the hard work of seeing off the new ball has been done IMO.. this should be cash in time. WI are bowling good lines and there's no point taking unnecessary risks. Still rotating the strike should not be a problem for batsmen of this class.

I think the target should be to get to 250+ by the end of the day's play (assuming all 39 overs are bowled), which will be plenty. At some point, WI might lose their discipline for a patch of 10 overs or so, which is when the batsmen must cash in to the tune of 50-60 runs.

What is this talk of playing for a draw from Sunny G ? For christ's sake! We need to be ruthless not just play for draws on the fifth day!

If we get 90 overs at them, I think we'll win. Actually, I think Dhoni will go for the approach of putting up an unattainable score so that he doesn't even have to bother about stopping runs. That might require batting the first 10 or so overs tomorrow. A lot depends on how Bhajji bowls... can't expect the quicks to take all the wickets again.
