Even watching Mithun, who I really don't rate at all, bowl here makes me wonder what the **** India were doing picking Unadkat, let alone the fact that he was picked ahead of Praveen and Munaf.

Was a Random punt ,the selectors took as he had a very good tour of England with India A.

I agree was a weird selection tstl and way too soon.

Other bowlers than Praveen and Munaf should be ahead of him too like Vinay Kumar,Pankaj Singh.

Yeah I know, but it was a selection that really had absolutely nothing going for it. When you see selectors take a punt on a bloke with extremely experience and unspectacular results, they typically at least really look the part in some areas; they've fooled people into picking them on potential because of their raw skills. Unadkat completed the trifecta of direness - unspectacular record, limited experience and looked rank to boot.

I think they picked him (stupidly) not really expecting him to play as a replacement. I think they just wanted him to have the experience of training with the senior team.

Praveen's been bowling around the 125 mark in this innings :)

atm
I'll have him ahead of sreesanth for the 1st test

wouldn't drop ishant as he adds variety to the line-up (seamer)

To be fair, I don't think I've heard Raina personally express his views on UDRS so he might have a different opinion to whichever godforsaken moron is in charge of that sort of thing at the B***, but my lack of sympathy remains strong.
Bollocks.

ishanth at 99 can bring his avg to 33.

p kumar was mesmerising. I can.'t recollect anyone since gillespie who could make it swing like this both ways. brilliant stuff.

If yesterday was a guide the second session is the best to bat on and a nice time for the West Indies to launch a bit of a counter-attack like Raina and Laxman did. Will be interesting to see if the rain changes the equation a bit and makes batting more difficult.
