No use really bowling in the "channel" if you're bowling short...

Direct it at the batsman's body or where you can get him squared up. trem's been able to do that. Broad's case batsmen have comfortably left him outside off.
They haven't though, he's made them play, they've left a few but so what. Are you even watching this because what your saying, isn't what I'm watching.

See how many of Tremlett's have been in that uncomfortable area on this pitch.. and for Broad those directed at the body have largely been comfortable tucked off the hip.

He has but on the back foot mostly. It was still a good spell but not quite good enough.

Oh yeah, Broad's just unlucky to average near 50 the whole series and over 110 overs 8-)

Or it could just be that he's been **** in this series.

When I say he's been bad, it's apparently an agenda, ffs please.

That's not where you want to be bowling...

I think Bun has a good point about Tremlett's shortpitched balls being more effective and the batsman getting squared up. I'm getting the same impression watching them as well. Or it could be that Tremlett's trajectory is just a bit more uncomfortable to handle. Broad's bowling better in this innings though.

i'm not sure you know what your talking about, Broad hasn't bowled as many short as Tremlett, Broads, been more in the left handers channel, around 4th, 5th stump and if anything Tremlett looks to have been all over the place.Andy why is Tremletts circle huge and Broad's small?

Bun, what are you trying to say? Really I don't know because it sounds like you are just making stuff up as you go along.

- Bowling short is better?
- Trems line has been better than Broad?
- Trems length has been better than broad?

Tremlett's getting more bounce of a good length.

Yeah but that's only if they're used as a surprise weapon, not as a stock. Broad's stock line is excellent, it's his length that's the issue.

Why is the circle for Tremlett smaller than Broads
I don't know about the circles, but Tremlett's pitch map is clearly more bunched than Broad's, but the spread as it passes the batsman is much bigger. That would indicate he is getting more seam movement than Broad in general.

EDIT : And there you go, a wicket for the big man. It's been coming, he's been beating the bat and causing problems.

Guys, I drew those circles off MS Paint, so one happened to be smaller than the other. But the point I was making is pretty obvious. Tremlett is bowling more in the areas which get the batsmen swaying or squared up. Broad's deliveries are either outside off or easily duckable, the ones directed at the body at a tuckable height as well..
