Yes.

Even if one rates Ishant as a better bowler (I don't), he's better than Sree, Larry, Curly or Moe or whoever takes the third seamer's spot.
Sree > Broad > Ishant IMO. Although I rate Sree a lot higher than most people.

I reckon he might spend a bit of time at 7 actually. With the strength of their top 5 and Dhoni, and the comparative weakness of their bowlers, having Broad at 7 could really improve them. It'd all them to play two spinners AND three seamers all the time and give depth and backup to the inconsistent Sree and Mishra.

Is it just me or is there some growing animosity between some English and Indian posters? Can't wait for the series to start.

Ishant is more useful than Sreesanth in Indian conditions by a margin.

Sreesanth is a lot more wayward as well and can blow hot and cold.

Broad i can't see being too good in Indian conditions either.

From the 3 as i said before in terms of average performance in all the conditions in test ,i would back Ishant.

At this moment in time he's looking absolutely terrible though, and has varied from just about acceptable to poor for a while now. Really needs to sort it out soon.

He always looks terrible in ODI's tbf.

Did not look as bad as usual in the IPL though this time.

I don't think he's looked too bad today, and I agree with you that I'd rate Ishant slightly higher of the three, although admittedly this is largely based on 2008.

Agree with this. Sreesanth always swings the ball and lands the ball on the seam pretty much all the time. That means whenever he bowls in the right areas he's going to be handful. Ishant isn't really 'blow hot'-'blow cold' like the other two. He used to be consistently good in 2008. Now he's consistently poor.

No. Because he's English. Can't play for India if you've played for England ffs.

Mind you, watching the game last night, he is so far behind Tremlett and Clouderson it isn't a serious comparison.

Hehe, Clouderson. Should have thought of that before he munched Australia to pieces in glorious sunshine. Would've been funnier.

One phrase neatly describes the futility of debating the merits of a bloke who averaged 35 vs another who averages slightly more; effect size.

Seems a somewhat pointless debate, I prefer Ishant on potential as a Test bowler but Broad has to be the bloke actually taking a spot ahead of he and Sree surely.

Was the wettest summer for a decade , Uppercut..

I know it's hard to comprehend when you live in a place where it never stops raining, but you can have humidity when the sun is out. Just saying.

Easily. Broad hasn't bowled well in recent months, but that's still better than the dross that Sharma/Sree have served up.

Athlai

Not Terrible
He would make the team. Though in the Indian setup I reckon he'd get dropped a bit quicker than the English drop him.
