fair to say Wasim made the right choice or he could have retired in glory as 7 times national table tennis champion each winning earning him a purse of RS 5000.

As for Curtly WAG.

I am a huge fan of Curtly. But the only thing I don't like about him is his lack of love for the game. I remember a couple of years back when he was asked about the present-day cricketers, he said something in the lines of he doesn't watch cricket anymore because cricket is not something he loves. If there is one thing I don't like about the great bowler, it is this.

Wasim Akram's case is different. Cricket might not mean life to him; but he certainly loves the game, watches and follows it...and is still associated with it (though that's not important).

How can you dislike a bloke for his personal preferences?! Miserable reason not to like someone.

as long as he give his 100% while playing it should be enough imo.Imran says after he lost the 87 WC he lost all the passion for them game the only reason he stretched till 92 was he knew a WC win would be a big boost to his cancer hospital ambition.

...never said that I don't like him...In fact, he remains one of the best bowlers I've seen.

Probably I could not convey my fellings well there. I should put it this way - As a fan I would have been happier if I could hear(/read) from the master about the art of bowling, about the batsmen he bowled to and about cricket itself.

haha, yep I got it wrong. That's a fair cop, I myself would be interested in what Curtly would have to say about current batters although I think it'd be a fairly predictable response.

"I'd win."

As far as I'm aware, he doesn't watch or follow cricket at all. If you ask him about Jonathan Trott or Gautam Gambhir, he might just ask you

"Which country do these blokes play for?"

In a way, that's a good approach to life. Give your best to your "job", do it with a sense of pride but at the end of the day, leave it all behind and concentrate on things that you enjoy more!

I'm 95% sure I heard the great man commentating on Eurosport's coverage of the Caribbean domestic T20 comp earlier this year, so he obviously watches some cricket.

Is a killer bass player, apparently.

haha, you know when a bass player has their bass slung that high, he has chops.

Notice Richie Richardson on guitar there too. Far too cool to bother with stuff like movement and whatnot.

It's not slung high, he just can't find a strap long enough.

What, we're not doing obvious penis jokes now?

I don't want to live in this world any more.

Maybe we need a cool XI - although we may not need to look beyond WI teams from 1970's & 1980's.
Here's my effort

1. Desmond Haynes
2. Mark Richardson
3. Rahul Dravid (wk)
4. Brian Lara
5. Jesse Ryder
6. Viv Richards (c)
7. Steve Waugh
8. Shane Warne
9. Shaoib Akhtar
10. Curtly Ambrose
11. Courtney Walsh
