I have usually been unable to define "cool" but for someone like Ambrose, the term seems to appear fit rather perfectly.
Considering that by cool we mean people who are effortless, don't give a damn about what the world thinks of them and are yet great performers, I would have Sehwag and Gayle as two coolest cricketers I have seen besides Ambrose. Now that I think about it, it is when these guys speak of a failure that hurt them that it sounds more genuine (Sehwag speaking of Bangalore test loss against Pak in 2005 or Ambrose speaking of loss in 96 WC semi).
Not many other modern players come to my mind. (Dhoni appears cool most of the time but some times he does give away his insecurities). Among older generation cricketers, based on what I have read I would say Viv Richards, Botham, Roberts, Trueman, Miller were some of the cool dudes.
