Ponting's never had an issue with Katich as far as I know.

If a player was dropped in most club sports before an important game or whatever I just feel that the captain (or former) would normally have a chat to that player. Watson got in contact with Katich.

Anyway just raising it as it was brought up on an Australian sports show here. I mean these guys spend a **** load of time together. You'd expect a phone call or some condolences etc.

Really feel for Katich, one of the few Aussies to come out of the last ashes series with any credit. Seems premature to dump him with so many problems with the batting and keep a non performing Ponting on who is older and has far less time left as a player.

Still CA know what they are doing, they showed that so well last ashes series by causing so much confusion in selection.

The current regime remind me so much of England in the 80's and 90's and it aint much fun as a fan.

Yeah obviously not saying Clarke had anything to do with it (as juicy as that rumour is), but just found it odd myself. Particularly thought Ponting would be in contact (and Katich made it clear that as of Friday he hadn't heard from them).

Did you read about the Poontang thing? I can't remember Katich mentioning him in the presser.

Nah wasn't in the press conference.

On Offsiders they mentioned that Katich did an interview with Graeme Hughes on Friday on radio and he asked Katich directly whether Clarke or Ponting had been in contact with Katich. Katich said explicitly said no.
