we need a subforum for katich.

frankly wtf he wasnt considered for captaincy is beyond me. from what I read, and more imp what I saw, he has pedigree much better than what clerke has.

They basically have. Why would they pick him if they aren't even giving him a contract as one of the best 25?
India pick regularly outside the contracted players, tbh.

And surely Australia would be picking spinners outside the 25 too in the future.

The only way Katman is getting picked again is if he starts scoring back to back double centuries in first class matches. Doubt that'll impress even

india I dont think have had lika that big a pool contracted back. surely not 25.

but given the state aussie cricket's in now, wouldnt rule out katich returning. but, depends on how the board and selectors have takeen this outburst. all accs and greg chappell indicated kat himself has nailed the final one in his coffin.

What the **** were CA thinking appointing Greg Chappell as the national talent manager and selector in the first place?

He made Dravid open in tests and ruined his form for India and then made Sachin bat in the middle order in ODI's and ruined his form too.

You can call it an outburst but it seemed very deliberate and thought through. He knows he's gone from Aus international cricket so has decided to air how he feels about the current set-up and how the selectors and mgt operate.

It's such a relief to hear a player being honest. And considering the mindless and continual positivity that CA and all connected with it dish out in the teeth of all facts, rather startling.

The man is on a mission to destroy world cricket. India made a timely decision to throw him out. Australia have the added problem of having Hilditch as the ring leader. It's the blind leading the blind. What do you expect? :@

This was the prized scalp. Simon Katich caught Hilditch bowled Chappell in the fag end of the day. Who would have thought! 8-)

CA's selectorial decisions have been so logically challenged that nothing surprises me anymore, honestly. But even by their lofty standards of moronic conduct, they've outdone themselves this time.

The ONE thing that was going right for Australia - a solid opening partnership - and Chappellg had to butt in to ruin it. Since, they haven't decided on a role for Steve Smith so far maybe having him open against the new ball is the way to go. If injecting young blood in the side is the idea (their cricketing merit regardless), might I recommend a friend's 14 year old son living in Queensland.

Mitch Johnson needs to be moved up to no. 3 to strengthen the batting line-up as well. Guru Greg is a great advocate of fast/swing bowlers completely ****ing up their natural game and opening with both bat and ball. Irfan Pathan should know a thing or two about that. We all know how he ended up with 1000 runs and 100 wickets in a calender year after Guru Greg's magical intervention!

All hail Andrew Hilditch and the vastly experienced talent-spotter, Guru Greg! World cricket is indebted to these men.

Spluttering typos in my haste to stomp on even the faintest notion of Hookesy being in a position of selectorial power. I loved Hookesy, he was my hero growing up and even more so when I met him but just noooo.
Didn't do too much wrong with the Victorian squad...

EDIT: Admittedly had the straight-laced Shippy next to him, but worked out to be a pretty good partnership while it lasted.

Katich is exactly the sort of player that wouldn't even be getting a game for their states if CA had their way.
