So if we lead by 320 runs with 60 overs remaining, you would hold off the declaration till we get it to six an over, despite just losing overs pretty unnecessarily ? Each to their own mate, personally I'd be looking for us to win rather than avoid defeat, just as all the top sides should do, imo.

England should get to 280 and start attacking. Try get 60-70 overs to bowl at them with enough runs on the board.

They have four batsmen still in the sheds who can score very very quickly. They should go on the attack right away IMO.

You'd hardly lose many more overs with that equation, 57 overs with a 342 run lead is 6rpo.

Batting aggressively for another 10 overs or so and then putting Sri Lanka in will probably make this a game worth watching. Doubt it will happen though.

Absolutely they should attack. We already have a lead of 267, which you would already expect to be enough, so we've nothing to lose by trying to move this game along at a high speed and get SL in to bat with plenty of overs left to have a real go at them.

Hope we bat for a further 10 overs and try and score as many as we can in that time to leave SL with 60 overs to bat and a target of what should be around 330.

So you think it'd be vital to score those 22 runs in the three overs ? Waste of time if you ask me, pretty confident 320 will be enough, just losing three overs is of no worth imo.

Swann is at his most effective when players are prodding around from their crease, not really knowing what to do, not when they're playing positively and coming at the bowler.

He doesn't get many stumpings.

Bat positively, put them out of the game, and give them 50 overs of survival cricket.

Bell showing exactly the kind of urgency required. Cook even opting for a reverse sweep, he too recognising the need for some quick socring.

We'll be out of sight with 60 overs left, why lose 10 overs ?

Why fix yourself to a 350 lead though? It's about RPO, and more importantly to mine overs left as in my mind SL are already basically out of it.

Reverse sweep again! Extraordinary stuff.

Now dancing down the pitch? This is Cook batting, right?

Precisely, give ourselves the maximum number of overs we feel we can afford with regards the chase, in order for us to bowl them out. Has to be sixty or more for me.

Why did SL not appeal more vehemently ? Was out by an inch. If there was an appeal, why on earth was it not sent upstairs ?
