Howelly again! Didn't have as good a year in Australia as what he did the year before, but he's doing a great job back over in England. Think that's his FC debut as well?
Indeed. In line to be one of the select few to debut with a duck and a 100.

Topley's last exam was yesterday morning, he went straight from the exam to the ground. Tsotsobe is on his way home if his twitter is anything to go by
Pretty pathetic and embarrassing from Lopsy. He has played in England before, gone as far as second XI cricket for Sussex, weather has apparently been surprisingly good in the South as well recently and all he does is moan and go at 6 runs an over.

Even a finished Makhaya Ntini averaged under 20 with the ball and took wickets for fun for Kent last year.

South Africa tour England next year, wonder if this will be held against Lonwabo?

Another South African test quick, Friedel de Wet is also struggling. de Wet was "rested" by Hampshire for their 4 day game against Yorkshire 2 weeks ago and he has been playing second XI cricket (and not getting any wickets) ever since.

By contrast, Wayne Madsen, a guy who averaged about 15 for the Dolphins in South Africa has come over to Derbyshire and looks like being the new Andrew Strauss.

So far this season they have only reached 200 twice without not being 5 or more wickets down. Highest opening stand is 70 odd; David Sales has a batting average worse than Northants genuine tailenders and only one of their top 5 averages over 35. 70-5 is almost regarded as a good start for Northants.
Yes I appreciate your point that they are rarely off to a flyer. However, they have never lost five wickets and not been over 100. Their lowest score prior to this game at the fall of the fifth wicket was 104, and they were only chasing 108 in that innings aswell. At 70-5 that is asking even more of the mid-lower order so I certainly wouldn't class it as a good start, even by Northants standards!

just made a thread, surely he must have netted and couldn't have been that woeful.. I love how they shoved him up the order though

So with Tsotsobe getting the early flick is Southee now a chance to stay on after the 20/20's?

Jason Roy hits a six to get his maiden first class ton from just 89 balls!

In more predicatable news: James Taylor gets another 50!

Somerset are storming it aren't they - Trescothick past 950 runs for the season. Even if he stays to the end and scores every run needed he'll finish just short of his thousand - must be the highest end-of-May tally since Hick though.

And Durham still needing two wickets ...

Yorkshire are in a right relegation dogfight. Fortunately Worcestershire are awful, that rained off draw against Hampshire could be costly though come September.

If it wasn't for Bairstow we'd be in even bigger trouble, looks a player.

Get the feeling the 205 might have opened the floodgates.
