Strauss caught that.

I have never, ever seen a catch like that go the way of the fielding team once referred to the 3rd umpire.

Too much benefit is given to batsmen.

It wasn't even one of those, where you can't see the fingers and where the ball bounced, clear it went straight in his fingers.

The problem with using technology for these is that we know there is a technical flaw that prevents a clear view being made. Therefore, it is bound to provide some doubt, which in cricket means not-out.

I'd like to see this addressed.

Nah, it's happened a couple of times in recent memory. Dhoni was the batsman on one occasion. It was a test match IIRC (not sure if it was against Australia or South Africa). The other one was Parthiv Patel against South Africa in the fifth ODI earlier this year.

No luck with England today, edges, top edges falling inbetween fielders and catches not given when caught and their best bowler injured.

Well the filthiest ball Swanny bowled all day gets a wicket, decent contribution from Herath.
About time and a decent nut from Broad, good knock from the lad and put SL in a strong position.

Every bat getting a start right down to Herath - who only then got out via poor shot - suggests just how much the deck is flattening out.

Excellent innings from PJ. Rode his luck a bit but sometimes that's what it's all about.

Great catch from Ryan. Underrated as a fielder, really.

All out for 400, pretty happy after what the score was like half an hour or so ago. Just about dead-on par for mine. Well, maybe a smidge over.

Really good catch that by Broad and another for Swanny. Good total and England will really have to knuckle down and be sensible and put a score together because with Jimmy looking injured, they'll have to rack up a big score.

Agreed, but if England enjoy the same luck as SL did during their innings, Engalnd should be able to get a lead of 200+ by the end of day 4.

Here's hoping the form shown in the Ashes is continued...........

Isn't always the case though, especially with how things have gone today, like I said, with Anderson appearing to have gone for the game, we'll need a big score.

Anderson gone for back and thigh x-rays and examination at hospital, not good news at all for England and Jimmy.

Good running by Cook and Strauss, turning one into two.

Anderson has back and side problems and will be off for a scan later to see the extent and severity of the injury.

Dire lines by the Lankan openers so far, Perera too straight and Lakmal too wide. They need some sort of by their powers combined - this is Captain Planet action to try and get it right...
