**Official** Sri Lanka in England / Scotland - 2011

While personally would've liked to have seen Chandimal in there with either him or Ssanga taking the gloves (assuming 5 bowlers) I think comparison to Sammy is harsh. He's obviously chosen as a pure keeper, as against a keeper batsman and the selectors are happy with him averaging around 30 as long as his keeping is top-notch, as such he's fulfilling his role.

Whereas Sammy's role is...?

Also, the prospect of Anderson being injured mae me think, these two sides at full strength would have been cracking. Throw Mathews, Malinga even Fernando back in the mix would've made for compelling cricket, England still the better side in these conditions for mine. Unfortunately the current team balance and bowling attack means that there's always the sense that Sri Lanka are constantly scrapping, can't see the dominating at any point.

Impressive performance this by Prasanna Jayawardene. He should be suffering a serious nosebleed from batting as high as number six, but he has applied himself well.

Thisara Perera is very watcheable as a batsman too. Expecting him to be dismissed near every delivery due to his approach, but he makes it very entertaining.

Be interesting to see what total they can make from here. Expect this pitch to look very flat upon Sri Lanka commencing with the new ball.

I wonder whether Jimmys' back is serious, if it was, you wouldn't have thought he'd be fielding. If he can't bowl, it's going to be very hard for England
