**Official** Sri Lanka in England / Scotland - 2011

Happy so far with the progress. Hope they can crawl their way to 350 at least, going to be real tough with this long tail though. Also not sure what to make of this wicket.

On another note IPL1 and IPL2 scored 15 runs between them. "Mindset" must still have not been right.

They both got rolled gold jaffas though. Hard to be too critical.

Damn these guys in my office!! :@:@

My fav swing bowler and my fav spinner are bowling in a test match and I am busy with a head-spinning Excel sheet!

Looks to be a good match in Cardiff. The giant Tremlett along with Anderson and Swann would be disappointed if they don't restrict Sri Lanka to under 320 or 325. With the rain and all in May, Cardiff should be conducive to some movement. Paranavitana played well, it seems. I've always liked the look of him. Nice, compact player with a solid backfoot game.

If we had a day of sunshine (unlikely given the forecast) I reckon it would start to look very flat indeed.

Quite impressed with the effort of the Sri Lankans (not that I'd expect anything else) but they could still get knocked over in rapid time.

Fair effort by Sri Lanka if they can make 300+ without the input of Sangakkara and the good Jayawardene.

A big innings and tour by Samaraweera will a significant impact upon how he is regarded in years to come. Is destined to retire as a statistical anomaly from the past decade, and will undoubtedly cause great discussion in 20-30 years time as to why nobody rates him.

Played by Sameraweera, if a bit edgy. Not sure what Strauss is doing bowling Trott...

EDIT: This is daft by Strauss, given SL about 30 free runs here with low-intensity tripe.

EDIT2: Great ball.

Addendum to "great ball" - not a great look, must be said, to be opened up by a ball like that on the stumps.
