Indeed. Whether any of the counties would take on any of our pace bowlers is a different matter, however.

A second-string Sussex team are 216-0 against the students, with both openers getting hundreds before lunch. Run rate 6.35 for the session.

I've no idea why these matches should deserve first-class status.

Another excellent day for Lanky so far and a superb return for Kyle Hogg - this season is going far too well

OK I accept there may be the odd frenchman who knows which way to hold a bat, so having proved his point that Howell bloke can get back in the hutch now

Two live non-test FC games a year on Sky. We had Sussex v Notts the other week.

One's sometimes a tour game tho; when Oz toured we got the Loins match on.
Itstl, why two?

We only get the final of the shield shown here.

We also get the Australia A games when they play England.

Not a Scooby. I'd prefer more. I guess Sky gets better figures for List A or 2020.

Also, lol Jon Lewis. 5 overs for 22 and then 1 for 21 on his return. Should've bowled him out with the new ball.

Hehe he's not actually French, didn't even know he was born there. He's another bloke who went to my school - his Dad was an ex real tennis pro. Playing really well at the moment, though. Good luck to him.

Essex staring down the barrel of a healthy first-innings deficit. Good to see Owais Shah make 96 on debut, but received little support. James Foster's still there so there is hope of maybe getting the difference to under 100, but it once again emphasises Essex's struggles with the bat this season. Ten Doeschate should be back soon and will certainly strengthen that middle order.

Am pleasantly staggered by Lancs' start this season, and there at it again. The signs are not good for a Hampshire side that could not keep out the medium pace offerings of Kyle Hogg, 7-28, quite remarkable. Saj with two big wickets towards the end sets Lancs up for a three day victory.

Despite Northants reputation for having a heavy scoring mid-lower order, at 70-5 they looked in real danger of falling behind in this game, yet once again they recovered admirably, and were only one run behind at the end of first innings', making 312.

Warwickshire need close to a miracle to avoid defeat against Durham, not helped by numbers three, four and five not contributing a single run.

It is not the pleasant kind of staggering.

It is the kind of staggering where you are at the front door and you suddenly realise the need to remember which pub you left your keys in.

Howelly again! Didn't have as good a year in Australia as what he did the year before, but he's doing a great job back over in England. Think that's his FC debut as well?

So far this season they have only reached 200 twice without not being 5 or more wickets down. Highest opening stand is 70 odd; David Sales has a batting average worse than Northants genuine tailenders and only one of their top 5 averages over 35. 70-5 is almost regarded as a good start for Northants.
