Tbf, there are not many IPL Inspired selections in this team.

And the IPL helped Badrinath get into the team.:)

If the West Indians have any sense at all they would prepare fast, really bouncy tracks. And get Taylor back into the XI. Not too hard to visualize this particular Indian batting line up falling like a house of cards when confronted with genuine pace on a pitch with pronounced bounce.

The joke ODI teams we have been selecting for more than a year now :@
really??? whats been so dire about the odi teams performance in the last one year?

I cant understand people not rooting for mishra. guy's been brilliant and consistent since he was dropped and if anyone cared to watch sometimes phenomenal in ipl. his attitude has been excellent, willing to toss up and has managed to retain a good eco rate despite so many catches dropped off him.

rohit sharma and saha selections are total rubbish. rayudu couldve kept as a backup for parthiv. I am willing to give parthiv a go since he has done well in domestic for some years now.

badri. respect. just refuses to give up. wag.

that said, disagree with ur pessimism teja. he needs to utilise the chances however small they are. from what I have seen of gambir, I think he'll give badri a go near the top of the order, and hopefully he can make good use of it.

west indies have become predominantly spin friendly, and I am expecting harby and mishra to have a good run.

ambati rayudu needs to turn it up in domestic cricket and not just ipl.

I think it.s overall been an excellent strategy by selectors not to just select on ipl performances alone.

It's got nothing to do with the guys they have selected. I hate that Tendulkar, Dhoni, Sehwag, Zaheer etc play the meaningless **** that IPL is and then rest for international games (I know Sehwag is undergoing a surgery but why play any IPL when half fit)

frankly, i'd rather have them play ipl than a meaningless stupid odi series on another side of da world. we need the seniors at their best for important series. the odi teams have shown their mettle even without top chaps

Doubt that'll happen. The groundsmen appear to be pretty clueless. It'll be interesting to see what team the Windies decide on for the tests with the IPL over

A meaningless ODI series > IPL.

So would you rather have the same Players playing every match and no one else getting a chance?

Besides if it was not the IPl there would have been some sort of ODI series atleast if not a full tour instead in the same time frame.

Plus IPL has no doubt helped domestic Indian talent improved which not only improves International prospects but also the level of domestic competitions.

India will steamroll over WI.Much MUCH stronger batting line, and a more potent spin attack.
Probably in the ODIs, but like Pakistan, they might find that the Windies will put up more of a fight in the Tests....

I expect India to win, but I really doubt the WIndies will be 'steamrolled' in Tests.

Think India will win in the tests but it will not be emphatic. ODIs will be close. Even in the WC India was struggling before WI self combusted. Looking forward to seeing Badri bat.

Reckon the Windies will get rolled in the short matches but definitely put up a fight in the tests

It's unlikely it will - if Edwards isn't making the side I dont see why Taylor should... Gayle still finds himself in the middle of an argument between the WICB and the WIPA, Bravo isn't good enough to make the test side, that's it really... What will perhaps be more interesting is how Sarwan Samuels and Brathwaite fair against Pakistan in staking their respective claims for the side with Chanders most likely to come in for who ever does worse out of Sarwan and Samuels... If they all at one stage perform (unlikely) then there'll be a different mould of headaches for the selectors than what they're used to...
