Among the current lot, Sanjay Hazare is quite good, IMHO. Don't really know how he has been during this IPL; in the domestic FC games that I watched, he looked like a fine umpire. As an aside, he is the nephew of Vijay Hazare; took to umpiring after a fairly undistinguished FC career.Serious question - who was the last decent umpire from our country?

Ananthapadmanabhan too, but then he is very new on the job at the FC level.

Menaria is a good player; was captain of the India Under-19 team. Got injured quite badly during his first FC season, and all credit to Rajasthan Cricket Association, they sent him to Germany to get treated. He came back from injury and repaid the state by helping them win their maiden Ranji Trophy this year. Scored a good century in the Ranji final.Menaria seems a better long term bet to Saurabh Tiwary in terms of the type of batsman they are.
