He isn't so old...only about 25. But yes, has a less impressive first class record.Rayadu mostly a odi player and quite old in his late twenties so not in tests .
There are more than a dozen uncapped domestic batsmen who have a greater claim to an Indian test cap than Rayudu. The 26 year old has a FC average of 42.17, for christ's sake.
Huh?Rajasthan v Mumbai: Ambati Rayudu could fill Rahul Dravid or VVS Laxman's shoes - Harbhajan Singh
Agree with Bhajji. With Pujara, Kohli and Rayudu, we have a decent next generation of batsmen lined up. We should start phasing out the old guard. Unfortunately, Dravid seems like the first candidate for being phased out.
Yeah, I get itHuh?
Rahane, Badrinath, Sharma among others should all be ahead Rayudu.
As alwaysYeah, I get it
, so jumped the gun.
Yeah but he has the big advantage of being Sachin's team mate. A good word from Sachin can take him far.Agree.
But the competition for batting places in all the Indian teams at the moment is at really ridiculous levels and he would really have to up the ante to get selected.
The quality of the domestic bowlers?Indian domestic batsman average ridiculous numbers. In Pakistan the only players to have first class average of above 50 are:
Hanif Mohammad
Javed Miandad
Inzamam
Younis Khan
Misbah ul haq
Fawad Alam
Apart from Fawad who is unproved all of them have had a distinguished int careers however in India I have seen domestic journeyman's averaging mid 50's.Never understood why there is such a gap in domestic averages in the 2 countries when batting conditions are so similar.
The Number of Indian domestic bowlers around with very good numbers is also many more than Pakistan. The quality of the domestic bowlers?
