'Official' Pakistan in West Indies

Devendra Bishoo has been real impressive. He will never become a superstar with his style of bowling, but delivering wicket-to-wicket with variation will net him plenty of wickets throughout his career.

A touch of the Mahendra Nagamootoo about his bowling (although Bishoo has managed to take international wickets).
I'm really impressed. I don't see why he couldn't be a world class bowler. Yes he's accurate but it's hardly like he doesn't turn the ball; his flighted leggie turns a mile. His next goal should be to develop a quicker ball of a some sorts (doesn't have to be a flipper; just something that skids on more or is a bit quicker through the air). Benn doesn't deserve to be dropped as such but I really hope the West Indies get Bishoo into the Test setup ASAP.

He does have a quicker one. He got Salman out with it today.

Went dead straight, flipper-esque.

Bishoo to Mohammad Salman, OUT, If only he had run properly last ball, he wouldn't have been on strike this delivery to face this absolute gem! The deadly flipper! It landed on a length, or perhaps back of a length, around the off stump line and Salman thought, ok let me cut. Fatal mistake. The ball skidded on quickly and straight towards the off stump before he could get the bat down. Whoosh! Clatter!

Yeah, I saw that. I though it was just natural variation though. It didn't seem any quicker to me; just didn't turn. Could be wrong though as I was on the phone at the time.

tbh I will be very nervous with Bishoo for the test matches he seems to pick a wicket every 3rd over could see him getting a haul on atleast couple of occasions .

Really impressed by Hammad feel the lad has the potential to be a very good batsman his bowling is dire though so would not mind he just concentrates on his batting as i feel he is good enough to be a specialist batsman.

West Indies seem to have adopted this revolutionary tactic of not playing more than one or two batsmen in the team at a time. In the WC it was Gayle and Chanderpaul/Sarwan, now it is Simmons and Bravo. God forbid all of them play together at the same time. 8-)

And Sammy LOL.

I wouldn't necessarily call it a high quality match, but it has been entertaining.

The previous two ODIs were neither.
lol...you are still having a go at this series its not awesome by any means but the quality of cricket apart from Windies batting has been decent.Watching 3 quality spinners of different variety certainly not indicative of poor quality cricket.

Yeah it's woeful. I really do like watching junior bravo though.

I'm praying for a miracle in which Barath, Sarwan and Chanderpaul all come back for the test series. Perhaps even Fidel Edwards

Pakistan are playing good, solid, consistent cricket, can't take anything away from them. I know it must be terrible to lose talents like Amir and Asif, but if it results in the team performing as a whole in this fashion, it's more than worth it.

Joyous and delicious. But banned nonetheless. Usually more potent than you'd expect, and probably a fair bit older than people tell you.

You point out the word poor in my post and get back to me.

And lol at "apart from the West Indian batting". So half the 100 overs was filled with low quality batting, but let's just forget that?

I haven't had a go at the Pakistani performance at all in the ODIs.

Good to see you defend Pakistani cricket for once though. Rather than stop supporting them completely or calling them and all other subcontinental teams soft. Apparently that's fine but if I see a bad quality performance or two God forbid I point it out

Yeah it is extremely frustrating. This desire for selecting allrounders or random bits and pieces players is weird.

Kudos to Pakistan on the series win. Couldn't watch the match yesterday, but the scorecard suggests Pakistan outclassed West Indies for the third time in three games.

Your right it doesn’t seem a problem. Amidst all this crap, the ongoing Gayle saga and ditching their best players, their U19 side just beat Australia and in the last U19 WC they reached the semi finals and they had the bowler of the tournament (Jason Holder). But how many of those talented kids will go on to bigger and better things? In 2001 West Indies U19s beat England in England, the guy who dominated the series, overshadowing the likes of Ian Bell and Chris Tremlett was Devon Smith, fast forward 10 years, Devon Smith is regarded as a joke while Bell and Tremlett are regarded as top cricketers.

Seemingly Marlon Samuels was a U19 batting prodigy. Yet even with two years out in the wilderness he is still the same mediocre cricketer we know him to be. What's the odds that Kraigg Brathwaite will be another Devon Smith?
Unlikely since it seems Braithwaite can actually pick a ball that doesn't spin.
