Need to bring fielders really close in.

Sehwag grow some balls. Match is as good as gone. Only way you can win this is if you put them under pressure to do something stupid.

Lol, cop that Morkel.

Is Tiwary ugly to watch? Yes.
Do we want him in the Indian ODI team? No
But is he worth the money Bangalore paid him? **** yes.

Will play an important part in their quest for the title.
Tiwary must rank as one of the 10 most overpaid sporstmen on the planet

1.6 million for a domestic hack is just nonsense

nah! Not worth 1.6 million. could have gotten better than him for that. Consider what rayudu went is paid in comparison.
You can argue they didn't need him considering they already had Kohli, AB, Dilshan and Gayle... but he's still a gun at T20 and worth the case. Would be a gem for some other teams, especially Rajasthan. Bangalore probably overbought batsmen.

They're playing domestic cricket mate, if you didn't realise.
And?

Change one rule so that people are are paid on merit not nationality and his earnings drop by at least 75%

They got Gayle just last week .

Even then they did not need Tiwary.Could have made do with a better domestic batsman instead like Rayudu or Pandey or could have spend the money on him plus Kaif on a Rohit Sharma /Gambhir/Yusuf Pathan instead.
Could have taken Ravindra jadeja too for half the price of Tiwary. Or even a cheaper foreign player as they have so many Indian batsman already.

As for Rajasthan they have got Menaria in their team to play a similar kind of role who is like 50 times cheaper than tiwary and in the long term is probably gonna end up better.

Btw, it is ludicrous what Tiwary gets paid compared to Rayudu,Pandey,Menaria etc.. (Atleast on paper) because of some 3 matches he played for India where he did not do much.

Oh dear.

Yep let's take away the small bit of benefit the IPL has on Indian national cricket, just to please those who can't understand that the IPL is a domestic competition. Is it designed purely to make money? Yes. Is it also done by the BCCI to further strengthen Indian cricket? Yes.

Hence why there is a restriction.

Take away the restriction and of course Tiwary is worth less. Take away the Sydney harbour and a harbour apartment is worth less too.

I thought Bangalore were going to bottle it towards the end. Credit to Daniel Vettori and Syed for seeing their side home.

Oh, and Deepika!

He got paid that much due to his 2010 IPL, not because he played a few matches for India.
But he got into the auction because he had the India cap.

While others like Rayudu ,Pandey,Suman etc... who did well last few seasons too did not due to being uncapped.
Rayudu was equally good last season and has been better this.
Many 2-3 cap players like Saurabh tiwary,Manoj Tiwary,Ashok Dinda etc.. got a boost due to this too while others like Sidarth trivedi etc.. did not.

They all got a very low price of 50 to 70k dollars fixed to them(atleast officialy).
While uncapped players from other countries like Dan Christian were available for auction and went for massive prices.

Players performing well in IPL should be given a chance to fix a salry cap for themselves... may be restrict that to the top 5 performing domestic players with no International experience

why would they do that..don't think you are going to get to many people to watch a match that contains may be 1or 2 Indians at the most.

you already have lot of similar games happening very frequently

and one again its a Indian domestic competition :@

 Good post.

Someone like Venugopal Rao could have done the same job for them, albeit a lot cheaper IMO. Still, I guess they chose to pay a big premium for his past IPL success.
