What would a combined WI 80s + Aus 00s team look like?

Hayden
Greenidge
Ponting
Richards
Steve Waugh (c)
Hussey
Gilchrist
Warne
Marshall
Ambrose
McGrath
Either Llyod in for Hussey or get rid of Hussey, move Gilchrist up and get Garner in IMO. For an AT team, I'd rather not rely on part-timers at all.

If we get to have Lloyd and Ambrose in the same team, we can get to pick Steve Waugh from 2001 to bat and Steve Waugh from 1994 to bowl. Allrounder issue solved.

Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
Terrible

Literally only had one strategy - intimidate and destroy

Typical field was wk, 4 slips, gully, cover, wide mid-on, short-leg and fine leg

On the odd occasion that tactic failed (admittedly a rare occurrence with the talent at his disposal), he would generally resort to slow over rates, bouncers as a stock ball and whinging to the umpires

Ugly, ugly cricket

International Coach
My methodology was different. I gave 9.5 to those who would be walking into my all-time XI. So, 9.5 for Marshall and Gilchrist (of course, 10 on 10 should be reserved for the likes of Bradman and perhaps Sobers). Then I gave 9 to those who would be strong contenders for my all-time XI. So, 9 for McGrath....and so on...roughly 5 would mean effective, 7.5 would mean highly effective, and 8.5 and above would mean outstanding...
Thanks for clearing that up:)

I personally felt that Richardson's captaincy was a lot like Ponting's (except of course, the success Ponting has had as a captain, for obvious reasons). Richardson's captaincy was full of arrogance without not much to back that arrogance (except Lara's batting and Ambrose-Walsh' bowling, of course). And he would play the ideal cry-baby when things didn't go right. I agree when you say that he definitely wore his heart on his sleeve, but he never gave the impression of having a mature head over his shoulders. Of course, he wasn't a joker like Darren Sammy, buthe definitely wasn't as good as Viv.
Hard to rate captains, would Viv have done as well with the team Richardson had, or vice versa:unsure:
