Pretty top quality list of openers there.

The starts Sehwag gives despite maybe only scoring a 20-30 are pretty damn good at times. The QF against Pakistan is one example. For Gayle IIRC he either goes early or scores big.

Yup, top quality list indeed.

If I have to pick just one, it would be Amla. Piece of cake.

That stats of Jaya and SRT needs a bit of context. These two have played since mid 90s where average SR was around 70, and still has it around 90. Watson, Amla etc are from an era where SR of 80 is the norm. IMO both SRT and Jaya should be in the destructive category.

Well the fact guys like Anwar aren't on there certainly would indicate a slight change in the way the game is played.

Sightly surprised at the omissions in this list.I always thought Ganguly and Anwar would be up there with the SRs,so would Hayden. But they all lie in the lower.Anwar has a SR of 80 btw, whereas Ganguly has a SR of 72.Massive shock there TBH.I was sure that Ganguly scored his runs quicker.

Yeah no Hayden in the aggressive list at a minimum is extremely odd. Most people would categorze him as at least potentially destructive.

Hayden had 7 years in his career where he didn't have a SR of over 80 for that year, 4 years of his career he did.

His best was 07 where his SR was 89.

Was pretty surprised when I looked at those figures.

If I had to pick one to play for me tomorrow I'd choose Sehwag.

Gayle hasn't scored an ODI hundred since January 2009 against New Zealand and over the last two years he's played 29 matches and averages only 30.66, though he has improved his strike rate to just over 100.

By comparison, Sehwag over the same period has played 31 matches averaging 40.27 at a phenomenal SR of 118, with 3 hundreds.
