'Official' Pakistan in West Indies

You just seem to be finding excuses to downplay the series TBH.
Haha why on Earth would I do that? Really would love to see a good series. I didn't even say anything bad about this series prior to the WICB fiasco and the T20 'spectacle'

Pakistan and New Zealand should just tour the West Indies and play each other. I mean if no one is going to show up anyway, we may as well make the games more compettive.
Think New Zealand should tour India more often. As competitive as any team to have visited India in the recent past; and more competitive than most.

Reckon it was more our attitude for the first two Tests than anything. We bowled to plans and batted out overs, all you need to do if the pitches don't expose any weaknesses.

Was a bit more than that, India were seriously on the ropes when Martin came out with that one wonder-spell out of the blue.

Besides, I thought NZers hated having their attitude prasied? :p

Pak vs NZL/WI would only be competitive if Pakistan is touring them in sub cont conditions Pakistan will smash both 8/10.Pakistan is fair way ahead of both sides Pakistan has won 5 away tests in the last 16 months NZL/WI have won just one away test between them over the last 10 years if we keep Bangladesh/Zim tests out of the equation.

I don't think Pakistan enjoy playing at home all that much. Their bowling is their strength and it's hard to bring that into play on the roads of Pakistan and Dubai.

Jono,

I am not defending the quality of the T-20 even though imo it was pretty decent Simmons and Bravo collaring the best limited overs spin attack and a young leg spinner with potential winning the game by 7 runs with 4 wickets is hardly yawn worthy stuff what i am arguing is you are jumping the gun in regards to the quality of this series based on just a warm up game.

but Pakistan poor batting get exposed outside, at home atleast the batsman score the runs and then reverse swing being such a major factor in sub cont Pakistan always stays in the game

In the current scenario, with no international cricket on Pakistani soil,i think the team would love a home series regardless of the pitches.

Yes, goes both ways. Even if the batting struggles a bit overall, they can win Tests off stunning bowling performances, like last year against Australia, England and NZ, and should have done in Sydney. Though I'm not sure NZ helps my argument much because they also seem to prepare roads these days like everyone else. Pakistan are pretty good at producing terrific performances once or twice in every series no matter where it is played, they rarely get rolled without winning a Test. The problem is to put it together over the course of a series.

over the past couple of years Galle,Sydney and to a lesser extend Hamilton were test matches set up by the bowlers but the batsman failed at the final hurdle and Pakistan ended up loosing the games which they should have won. Yes with good bowling you will win a game or two here and there but poor batting would ensure that you end up loosing more games then you win.

A strong batting ensures that you an draw the game even if you are on the backfoot and you need just one good bowling performance in a series to cash in. Pakistan under Woolmer and Inzi consistently did this.
