Didn't one in a Fulham game last year step in to make a decision (and cause the wrong man to be sent off?)I was being ironic.
They're used, but I've yet to see one make any decisions.
Referees in rugby also benefit from having a governing body who embrace the benefits of technology.I'd say top-level referees will continue to be terribad for as long as they get no respect. Premiership referees tend to be contrary, exceptionally thick-skinned people, often with a bit of a power complex. The only people insane enough to pick a career that involves putting up with phenomenal amounts of abuse, basically.
International rugby referees, on the other hand, are there because they're good at refereeing. The difference in officiating standard between the two sports is a total embarrassment to football.
Reckon this one would be more apt tbh. Would also apply to the judge/magistrates involved in the Steven Gerrard case last year.Referees in rugby also benefit from having a governing body who embrace the benefits of technology.
FIFA's attitude to technology can be summed up by this picture:
They were up against quality opposition today**** you Notts Forsest
I love the mad bastard. Favourite Mad Jens moment is a toss up between his booking vs Wigan for timewasting in 2006/07, and randomly battering Robbie Keane in the last minute at White Hart Lane in 2003/04.Mad Jens starts for The Arsenal today. Back to the future and all that.
Busted his finger against Barca. Jens, wafg. How about the handbags with Drogba? Legendary. And that penalty save vs. Villarreal..
EDIT : Has Szczesny (or however it's spelled) been dropped BTW? Thought he was doing pretty well..
There's a gif that's well worth seeing of a tackle he made against Barca and Puyol last year. Ball going out and Puyol chasing it down and then Mad ****ing Jens appears out of nowhere with his studs at head height, Puyol pulls out and Jens runs off as if that was a normal thing to do.I love the mad bastard. 4 CBs wouldn't be so bad if 2 of them weren't mental.Yeah, giving us no chance. 4 CBs for the loss.
??? Kyrgyzstan couldn't be much more terrible, but Skrtel has had a really good season imo, Wilson is young but has looked good (although he is playing LB) and Carragher is a champion (though he is playing RB...).4 CBs wouldn't be so bad if 2 of them weren't mental.
Not entirely disagreeing ftr - was mostly in reference to the madman from Greece. Guessing I haven't watched nearly as many games as you this season (), but always have this irrational fear that Skrtel is about to get himself sent-off.??? And it's still pretty terrible imo.
