But Afridi had no other option. Shoaib Akhter had finished his overs & Hafeez in tight situations is far better than Abdul Razzaq.
Yes bowling Hafeez was a bit of a gamble, but a decent option I thought. Afridi fancied pace off the ball, and as you say, was probably a favourable selection over Razzaq. His delay just as he delivers the ball must make it slightly more difficult for the batsmen to line him up straight away, he won't work all the time, but today it did.

Against a team like Australia Hafiz would have been smashed. Remember Ajmal.
One odd instances don't decide things. The days where a spinner could not bowl at the death are gone. They are very much in the equation during the final overs now .Even Afridi's decision to have Ajmal bowl the last over to Australia was the correct decision, since he does bowl very well at the end,and was only unlucky to face Hussey playing the innings of his life.Infact,i'd want Ajmal to bowl many more overs at the death since he does a good job at it and that one match against Australia doesn't change it.

Hafeez should be bowled at the end since he has the ability to be very economical.Having one bad day does not mean that you cannot have a go at the same job again. And Afridi's decision to bowl Hafeez came out well today,so the point about it being one of today's negatives for Pakistan is absurd.

Yeah. But definitely Fast Bowlers are better than spinners in Power Plays & Slog Overs.

I think whoever bowls in these periods must have variations. Not sure in these conditions that fast bowlers are necessarily a better option, unless they are express pace with well disguised slower balls, or can deliver a yorker on request. Just as I tipped Kulasekara to go round the park in his last over today, he delivered five excellent deliveries, unfortunately went for a boundary on the sixth, but it was a top over.

Well done Pakistan and well done the three main men Afridi, Misbah and Younis. The dark horse team for sure.

The best thing from a Pakistani perspective is that there is every chance of topping the group now, which means they'll get to face West Indies/Bangladesh in the quarters.

Certainly strengthens their chances of winning the group, but let's not forget who it is we're talking about here. There's surely a resignation, a retirement, a suspension, a controversial axing, and a complete management overhaul before we reach the knockout stages.

They're bound to slip up in a game or two that they really should win.

Against who though? I don't see any of the associates troubling them, they all look pretty ordinary. The kiwis just look shot, and Australia is hardly going to be a game they should win.

I reckon 2nd is the worst case scenario here. That'll likely send them against England, and you'd fancy their chances on the strength of performances thus far.

I have given up trying to predict what Pakistan will do. I just think they'll lose a couple of games yet, but I would not rule them out of going all the way in the tournament. Should Misbah and Younis fail in a game, that may be a telling fixture.

That's blasphamy, don't ever repeat that again.

I was only pointing out the negatives of the game guys, for the purpose of discussion. I of course expect Pak to do well and improve on from this game.
