Also got Perera with a ripper. The dude still has it.Saw the match only in patches. The highlight of the day - The ball with which Akhtar got Jayawardene. WOW. Just wow. He is still producing those rippers that can get the best and the most settled batsman.
Yeah, maybe he can sledge them really well while carrying the drinks. Now that waterboy is playing - need someone with character to do that job.Hopefully Sreesanth can surprise us all with a good performance against someone.

Too much whining,no?Pakistan just beat arguably the best team in the tournament,on their home ground. What do you want?Pakistan to score 800 and get the opposition out for 15?mixed feelings glad with the win but should have been a 40-50 run win that would have send the staement to the big boys.We were excellent for 75 overs and pretty much rubbish for other 25. This performance will not win the cup.
The only negative IMO was the fielding. Other things can be improved easily. The fielding has been a chronic problem and almost cost us the game. Please boot out Khatmal. His batting is not worth the chances that he misses.Great win by Pakistan. However there were quite a few negatives from this match
1. Shehzad failing again after looking so good
2. Hafeez matching Martin Guptil for 'the best batsmen to get out on a 30 after having a great start' award Plus this time he did it in the most selfish way possible
3. Rubbish batting during the power plays (Razzaq is not being used properly)
4. Horrible fielding (Kamran and Abdul Rahman)
5. Gull being inconsistent as always
6. Afridi's rubbish captaincy - Why did he use Hafiz in the penultimate over?
Did I miss anything else?

They'll lose to Bangladesh.Pakistan did it
Should have been a 30-40 runs victory but ..............
By the way, What will happen now that Pakistan will know that they have lots of work to do to be competative against other sides & will work hard.
You didn't miss anything. However you did put in a lot of useless things in there. The only negative,as smalishah84 mentioned, was the fielding. The most shocking 'negative' you put in there was Afridi.Rubbish? The man has been fantastic as a captain.Using Hafeez made perfect sense - someone who bowls tight, and keeps the batsman in check. The fact that he got hit for a six does not make the decision bad.Afridi's captaincy has been brilliant,he has led from the front, and this is the first time since 1999's World Cup that the team looks dangerous.Great win by Pakistan. He didn't fail, It was a good ball that took edge.Great win by Pakistan. However there were quite a few negatives from this match

Against a team like Australia Hafiz would have been smashed. MAN, YOU SHOULD APPLY FOR A JOB ON CRICINFO.COM, simple because you will write a simple match summary which will be understood by allWell it turned out to be an interesting game, if not the thriller I anticipated. The job done for Pakistan by Misbah and Younis was priceless, despite Pakistan not building on that by finishing with a flourish. For me the batting powerplay was delayed slightly too long, it didn't matter as it turned out.
Sri Lanka never quite got themselves into an outstanding position after the opening partnership was broken, Dilshan seemed intent on trying to smack boundaries warly and probably neglected the ones and twos. Was expecting Sanga and Mahela to repeat Misbah and Younis' steady partnership, but Shoaib was re-introduced into the attack, Afridi obviosuly aware of the importance of a wicket, Shoaib duly obliging. It is fantastic for a captain to be able to use a wicket-taker like Shoaib to come on and grab a wicket like that, one that was vitally important in shaping the game.
Samaraweera got a beauty from Afridi, and then Silva put immense pressure on Sanga to score the majority of the runs. When the batting powerplay was taken, SL needed impetus, they were only picking up 3 or 4 runs an over and the r/r required was climbing, they were not able to stop it climbing throughout the rest of the chase. Credit to Afridi's field placing in not giving SL the chance to move the ball around, and obviously credit to the accuracy of the attack.
Sanga had to take too many risks, where Silva should have taken that role and allowed Sanga to keep ticking, but he just looked so out of nick. Silva finally begun to find the boundaries but too little too late.
Pakistan deserved the win, Afridi was excellent again, Shoaib showed his crucial experience, Younis and Misbah batted sensibly and importantly for the side, and SL couldn't quite get enough out of their star performers.
But Afridi had no other option. Shoaib Akhter had finished his overs & Hafeez in tight situations is far better than Abdul Razzaq.Against a team like Australia Hafiz would have been smashed. Remember Ajmal.
Such kind words, though I'm not sure many will agree!MAN, YOU SHOULD APPLY FOR A JOB ON CRICINFO.COM, simple because you will write a simple match summary which will be understood by all
