This has been so, so bad. Hopefully they get a bit better as the tournament goes on; Scotland and Afghanistan definitely showed far greater aptitude for cricket in the IC final IMO.

Against the "so called" expert's predictions, the seamers have taken all the wickets and the spinners have taken none.

Not a great showing from Kenya, but the NZ seamers bowled well. They bowled full, at the stumps, giving very little width
PEWS made the point, but a few of the wickets came from legside-ish half-volleys. Against decent batsmen a lot of the wicket taking deliveries would've been clipped for 4. It was just that Kenya's batting wasn't quite of the required calibre.

This should hopefully give my bet on Guptill to be NZ's highest tournament runscorer a little head start, anyway...

^ 100%. Let's not forget, India got 350 against them on this same pitch a couple of days back

Bowling full and at the stumps is the plan for Kenya, not necessarily for any other team. And it worked perfectly.

Guptill doing his usual party trick of being really good at hitting opening bowlers back over their heads. Looks awesome but unfortunately apart from that he's not that good.

As has been pointed out many times before, he's doing a decent enough job, and it's not like we're spoiled with great openers.

I'm not saying drop him, just that he's incongruously awesome at one extremely flashy part of the game, hence the tendency to think that he has more ability than he really does.
