Played drinking games to the Royal Rumble on Monday night. Long story short, the rule was three fingers of lager (for me, different drink for my mate) when there is an entrance (and he did eliminations). The key rule though, was down everything if Alberto Del Rio wins the Rumble - you know, because he's our favourite and he surely would not ever win the Royal Rumble. So yeah, up at 6am the next day cleaning up the bathroom - but it was worth it, I can't believe my two favourites, Del Rio and The Miz both won - The Miz doing so in very characteristic fashion.
Booker T and Diesel at the Royal Rumble was good. Would have liked both of them to have had more time. I think it'd be so brilliant if either of them were at Wrestlemania. Diesel is not the world's best wrestler, but he'd bring a certain star power, Booker T is a good wrestler and he'd bring the star power too - but those chance Diesel got were simply electric. He comes across as a very strong character on TNA, I hope that if he does have a WWE stint, he could transfer that across.
Skimmed Raw this morning, watching it in full now. It is not too bad, but King Vs Miz at a PPV, simply bizarre. The King is 61 years old, surely this will be very boring to watch if it goes much longer than 10 minutes. Also, I hope and I believe King will not win - in fact, it is so unlikely that I can only assume the point of the match is for Miz to win to make himself seem stronger, while keeping the gimmick of a beatable champion. Miz Vs Cena for the WWE title seems pencilled in for Wrestlemania - as does something along the lines of King Vs Riley and Cole in a handicap match or maybe just King Vs Cole, though it'd be hard to see how they do that.
Del Rio facing Edge and so is staying on Smackdown. Smackdown is great for a mid-carder to get over, but Raw is needed to get to that final level, imo. But maybe Del Rio's brief period on Raw recently has done that, in itself.
As for that mysterious promo. Surely it has to be hyping someone other than Taker. Taker has not been out for that long at all - ambiguous promos are going to get the IWC hyped up and WWE know that. Perhaps they are screwing with them and it is Undertaker or perhaps Awesome Kong, but there is a chance that Sting might cross the line and join WWE for the first time and that would be epic.
