True, being a bowler of the worst non-minnow fielding side, still a great accomplishment. His statistics, perhaps, would have been a lot better had he been a bowler of better fielding sides. If there's one bloke I can accept finishing ahead of Tendulkar and Akram it's King Viv. He'd have been third on my list, if I were to make a list.
I'm glad Akram was the highest ranked bowler. Really, really, he deserves it.
I think a few who didn't pick Wasim may not have watched much of his career and the person who missed Sachin is clearly a Lara fan as they had Lara at número uno.
+1echo what's already been said. Fantastic stuff nufan.
I guess the thing is, bowlers get multiple chances to get things right. Batsmen can make one error and their day is done.Nope. Importance of one is questionable (like batting vs. bowling) but batting is more difficult art. One major reason why, batting is more risky.
Yeah, Reckon him and Lara are extremely close as ODI batsmen too imo. Waugh is the second best pure ODI opener for me after Tendulkar, ridiculous how often he set up games for Oz.Great job, Nufan - really do appreciate the work and passion that went into this.
At first blush, the only glaring anomaly in the rankings for mine was Mark Waugh's.
Regard him as one of the all-timers.
What? 3 people left WASIM AKRAM in their top 25 ODI players of all time????????Echo everyone in saying great job Nufan! A really enjoyable thread.
All in all, a good top 50. I may have some complaints with the placings of some of the players, but I suppose we all could. I do hope sincerely that the 3 that left Wasim off their list and the one each that left McGrath and Tendulkar simply forgot. If it wasn't an oversight on their part, I would love to know their reasoning for why they don't belong in the top 25.
Yeah. I remember once Imran dropping a dolly on wasim's bowling when Wasim was on a hattrick.True, being a bowler of the worst non-minnow fielding side, still a great accomplishment. His statistics, perhaps, would have been a lot better had he been a bowler of better fielding sides.

True. There must be few bowlers who may have been on a hattrick as many times as Wasim and Waqar.Wasim was such a hattricks freak
It wasn't me.. IT WASN'T ME!!!I think a few who didn't pick Wasim may not have watched much of his career and the person who missed Sachin is clearly a Lara fan as they had Lara at número uno.
