Well I don't think AB really compares to Gilchrist with the gloves. Idealy you'd have him play as a batsmen and have him field in the ring.

But yes, he could certainly get a long way up the list. One of the most talented players ever to emerge while I've been watching cricket. Chance of being in the top 10, definately.

I wonder how high up the list AB de Villiers will end up eventually? What an awesome batsman he is. The fact that he's keeping now too makes you think really what did Gilchrist offer that AB doesn't?
I had AB very high up iirc. Was surprised at how low he went in this.

I wonder if Chris Harris will make the list again...

Truth be told I snuck him into my list last time as I rated his fielding and bowling.

Gguys like Kallis, Kapil and Gilchrist a tad too high in the list for my liking, but a good list nonetheless.

I expect Dhoni, Kohli, AB, Amla, to rank really high if the list was redone today.

Need to wait on their performances this WC before rating Amla and AB, IMO. I'd rank Yuvraj higher than Amla at this point ITBT, averages from JAMODIs be damned.

AB close to being the GOAT ODI batsman imo. A WC win would make it a solid case. He's definitely top 5 already and probably top 3 (Viv, Sachin, AB). Amla, Kohli and Dhoni not far behind.

I can't work out how Murali can be a definite for the top 5 and not McGrath. They played in the same era and McGrath has a better average, economy rate and strikerate. Even the eye test tells me McGrath was the better bowler. What am I missing?
