If we drop Raina though ,with Yuvraj bowling 5 overs ,Pathan will have to bowl the other 5.

Also Raina is a proven finisher who can slog from the get go if need be and play cautiously too in Indian conditions.
And with Dhoni himself wanting to go up top,he is used to batting at 6 and is also is a left hander and thus lends balance too.

Besides Kohli has little experience in the middle order. And we need atleast along with Sehwag one more in the top 4 who can accelerate from the get go.
Loading the team with top orfder bats can be risky.
This is what the batting order should be for india.
Sehwag
Sachin
Gambhir
Kohli
Yuvraj (5th bowler)
Dhoni
Raina (6th bowler)

Got 3 destructive middle-order batsmen (no's 5 to 7), so how many more could a team need for the last 15 overs or so?
And no yusuf thanks!!

Oh come on. Whats the major difference between No.3 and No.4 in the ODIs?

I would still replace Raina with Yousuf just coz of the fact that he can take the long handle which is essential at no :7. Its very hard to expect him to be consistent. He is coming at no:7 and have to smash more often than not. You can't expect a batsman like that to be consistent. But on his day he can win you the game. On the bowling front, i would still take Pathan over Raina. Hard really to remove Yuvraj from the line up. He has been bowling tremendously well.

So the guy who won us 2 games in last 8-10 ODIs sits out and the fatty who is out of form gets to play in the World cup just cause of he played well in the past? WOW!

No Raina for the world cup at least.

SA set to score 280 and should easily win this match. I just hope for once India be a little aggressive at the top of the order. They just allowed the pressure on to them way too often by just trying to adopt a conservative approach. Bowlers like Morkel and Tsotsobe has never been under pressure at the start of the innings. It has always been one way traffic this series.

Let's hope the rain doesn't stop.

Amla's ODI average almost doubles what he averages domestically in South Africa (including RSA A games) in List A cricket. 40+ games, average below 30 and a poor SR.

India in bowling well at the death shocker. Unfortunately, too little too late IMO.
