Some fickle thoughts here considering Franklin's recent exploits in ODIs.

You're overrating Franklin's ability with the bat if you think he's good enough to be consistent in the top five.

oh dear .. I need to retract my statement.. well played franklin, I was relatively unaware of how well he preformed in India.

Are you serious? Thought people were joking about McCullum dropping down the order. I can only think they want the left/right combo at the top, because if you're looking to counter the spin, then wouldn't Ryder be the better option?

If only he was a shadow of the bowler he was in 2005 (taking test cricket here).

Yeah, would certainly take his former bowling prowess over his current batting considering our total lack of quality Test bowlers.

I'd have both Oram and Franklin in the side. Oram is there for his bowling (and is our most economical seamer) and Franklin for his hitting.

Franklin at five is one spot too high though imo. Would keep McCullum opening, Ryder in the middle order, and Franklin at six.

Honestly, replace Franklin with Williamson and I don't mind it. Both Oram and Franklin should be battling for the one spot imo.

In fairness he only averages 2 runs less than Guptill at domestic level. In the context of NZ cricket, he probably is good enough to bat top 5. If he were West Indian, he'd be opening.

Forget about the team, have you talked to fellow Pakistan fans?? Most of us were worried that they would collapse on the final day and gift New Zealand a victory.. Most of were were worried they would collapse before lunch, after lunch, after tea. Just imagine what the players feel.. They are not used to winning. They are used to losing, and not just losing plainly, but losing from winning positions.
This is not Imran Khan's Pakistan which considered drawing worse than losing.

Its a pretty even split tbh. A lot of them are cursing Misbah for playing 6 straight maidens after tea and not trying to take singles. Barring Southee, it was absolutely possible to score 3 singles in an over. FFS you are drawing a test with only 40 odd runs to go..!
