I daresay that's entirely why Faf is being tried out.Given South Africa's lower order has crumbled into a heap two games in succession now (has anyone below 6 actually reached double figures?) and Parnell continues to serve up pies, surely they'll play a batsman or at least a batting allrounder at seven when Kallis comes back. Botha at eight just seems so much more solid than Botha at seven and I don't think I'd feel any differently about Duminy, Kallis, Faf and/or Albie bowling Parnell's overs. In fact it'd probably be an improvement with the form he's in.
As much as I think he's a complete and utter hack, a tail that reads Albie-Botha-Steyn-Morne-Tsotsobe looks like a far more balanced side.Given South Africa's lower order has crumbled into a heap two games in succession now (has anyone below 6 actually reached double figures?) and Parnell continues to serve up pies, surely they'll play a batsman or at least a batting allrounder at seven when Kallis comes back. awtaSharma out, disaster for South Africa.
Ironic, considering South Africa always used to be the best in the world for lower-order runs, with Klusner, McMillan and Pollock at 8-9.Test side has same problem with Steyn/Harris/Morkel/Tsotso
Potential house of cards in both formats
SA were 4/90 tbf. And Indian lower order is much better. Should be interesting now.South Africa's game now.

Vomit-inducing action.
They don't have part-time piechuckers to release the pressure though.SA were 4/90 tbf. And Indian lower order is much better. Should be interesting now.
Cue Parnell...They don't have part-time piechuckers to release the pressure though.
