Well Played Guptill. Interesting that Smithy feels that 35.50 as an average is below him. He is capable of a 40 average but its still early days. Look at McCullum's average catapulting of late.

Why are we scoring so slowly? Is the pitch becoming difficult to bat on?

I thought we'd try and bat at around 4 runs an over through the day and try and have 5 overs at Pakistan tonight and then tomorrow.

We might as well lose 2-0 than lose 1-0.

I think we really should lift the scoring rate. We have 9 wickets in hand and loads of batting firepower to come. I don't see any need for caution here.

Guptill picks out the fielders a great deal as he is still learning how to play in a test match. Williamson takes a little while to get going but can up the tempo when he needs to. I think 4 an over from here will be our goal anyway with Taylor, Ryder, Franklin and Vettori really going for it in the last session.

Fair enough point there. I would start having a go now though because apparently according to the weather forecast anyway, a storm is set to hit Wellington in the final session.

Yeah, also we are apparently only going to get something like 80 overs today due to the over rate.

I'll be the one to say it. 13 no balls today so far, only 2 in New Zealand's first innings and only 1 when Pakistan were batting.

More betting going on? 13 is a big number but must be hard work with all that wind over a period of 4 days

Akmal is having to work really hard with the gloves when Wahab is bowling. Keeping pretty well though.

Come on guys we don't need maiden overs at this stage.

Im listening on radio and the way the commentators are going on about thing, it seems every chance is taken to slow down the game, Morrison and co are getting quite worked up about it.

Rightly so. A bowler doesn't need a drink halfway through an over.
