It is BS that we don't get more tests. We should be playing a 4 test series against WI and Pak. We are so evenly matched* that the games are awesome to watch

(*except for the 1st match in this series)

I went to the test match yesterday - loved watching Vettori score a century. We rose to give him a standing O. Felt good to cheer him on and was a great moment to be there live for.

This test is beautifully balanced. Two 350 odd first innings, and NZ at the crease having to move the game along. Hope the weather holds, it could be an absolute beauty.

i hope the kiwis dont fall in 2nd innings just like last test. They just need to take more responsibility.
The pitch didnt took any much swing and seam, as predicted.
Match evenly poised.

Nine is a decent figure compared to what we have been getting. I understand its also about the entertainment so the top ranked teams draw more attraction/revenue etc. I just want to see things evened up a bit. Will be pretty interested in the Zimbabwe series tbh. We need a legit team behind us in the rankings other than Bangladesh!

On the NZ bowler issue. Yeah, i wouldn't be against giving Boult a go against Bangladesh or Zimbabwe. It could be a learning curve for him and show him what the top level is all about. Wouldn't throw him in against Australia at this stage though. Compared to others I am actually relatively optimistic about our bowling stock coming through atm. We have a few young guns in domestic like Milne, Wagner, Boult, Bennett and Southee and with development that comes with age/experience etc I could see that being a decent attack or at least a grade above what we have now. I think Flem 274* had something on Todd Astle with him having taken 30+ wickets at an average of 21 recently as well so we do have a decent spin bowler coming through.

why dont kiwis make a green top pitch in every match.?
Somethin that subcontinent countries do as they make a slow turny low death pitch.
They should back their strengths,ie, seam bowlers.
Remembering india's terrible and nightmare tour of 2002 in new zealand.
And that too without BOND.

I'd be happier to go and see Zimbabwe than yet another home series against Bangla-****ing-desh. They've been here far too much of late. Might tour to some of the other grounds to watch the Yarpies. I mean, it'll probably we 2025 by the time they come down here again.

Would be interested just to see what line up they have tbh. They have been playing predominately one day cricket in internationals for some time now.

Grant Flower came out of retirement, played a couple of ODIs just recently and then got dropped from the team. He'd probably still be playing if he wasn't dropped but I don't think he really liked the idea of having to force his way back into the side so he retired again and took up a coaching role. They could probably talk him into playing I reckon, but I don't think they will.

Martin bowled an over outside off stump without giving him much to hit, then bowled one on the stumps and he shuffled across trying to work it to the onside, LBW. Looked pretty nervous after getting to 99.

Ah. Shame. I'd really like to see a competitive Zimbabwe, but I reckon it's only because I have this romantic vision of a Zimbabwe cricket team with Andy Flower, Neil Johnson and Heath Streak all playing.
