Vettori makes batting look stupidly easy once he gets in imo. Pretty much plays whatever shot he feels like irrespective of where the ball is bowled.

Well of course, when a country has more sheep than people, you find just about everyone's gone to your primary school at one point or another :p
But in all seriousness, just checked NZ's population. I live in Toronto and this city alone has a larger population than NZ, and it's remarkable that they still manage to do so well in cricket. Certainly commendable.

More that we manage to be decent at several sports. Not just one.

Yep, and with a strike rate of 60 this innings as well. Brilliant to have him back in form, and Taylor too. It's a wonder we did so well in the first two India tests without Taylor and Vettori scoring runs.

What you probably don't realise as well is that it's not even like cricket is big here. It still gets a lot of media attention as our "summer sport" but you could probably survey 1000 people at random and not find anyone who has the faintest clue about cricket.

Pakistan screwed atm without Wahab, if Young and Vettori keep their heads they could just keep piling it on here. Looking forward to Younis having another bowl tbh, should go back to his leggies.

Damn. Was looking good for 400... now must make sure that we get to 350 - need some more crease occupation from Southee.

Top delivery into Southees helmet. Nice of Gul to check on him inbetween overs, personally if I were the bowler I wouldn't want anyone checking if he's ok, unless of course he's in serious trouble.

Intimidation please people.

lol his cricinfo profile starts "a showy fast bowler with more brawn than brain". Seems to fit in with the general NZ cricket philosophy then.

Wasn't he the one who was generally medium pace* but would get angry at the batsman and then literally chuck a few fast ones? Might be an interesting skill for our quicks to obtain!

* or at least, not as quick as the other Windie quick bowlers

Southee shows his frailty to short bowling, pretty easily worked out by Gul there.

Will Vettori miss out on another century here? 19 away.

Looking at the weather, most likely result is a draw.
