Sure a few of you have seen this:

YouTube - Mirko 'Cro Cop' Filipovic vs. Dos Caras Jr.

Alberto Del Rio is a legit bad mother****er. Was a bit of a mauling from Cro Cop, but the fact he agreed to step in with a 2003 prime Mirko, 1 fight after Mirko had just brutally KO'd Igor Vovchanchyn proves he's a legit dude. There aren't many that'd be happy to step in on short notice, in 2003 against Cro Cop. Massive respect to the guy for doing it!

I think the fact he's smaller just plays into the fact that he's an evil man with a maniuplative mind. He was a lot smaller than Gallows and there was no doubt who the boss was there.
Very true, I'd agree that it makes him seem all the more horrible. Though I would distinguish his involvement with Gallows. Despite the fact that Gallows was considerably bigger, it didn't ever make Punk look particularly small to me personally, it just made Gallows look like the "muscle" of the group. Somehow when Punk is surrounded by guys who are only slightly but still noticeably taller than he is, he does stand out as a bit of a small fry (imo anyway). I don't suppose it will really matter all that much, as he's good enough to stop it becoming any sort of issue, but it does just strike me every time I see them on screen together.

Yeah, he's very impressive just the complete package really. Excellent mat based wrestler with a lot of charisma and great promo ability.

I recently read a comment online where some fan had posted that he thought Alberto Del Rio was very 'green' and that he wasn't ready for this big push. I just thought you have to be kidding me!

Alberto Del Rio is as real as they get in terms of wrestling talent now a days. The guy has 10 years of experience wrestling in Mexico as a top babyface luchador and as a heel for the biggest promotions in Mexico, he represented Mexico in the Pan-Am games in Greco Roman Wrestling and he's had a brief but fairly successful MMA career where he as facing legit tough fighters.

To have all those credentials and to have as much charisma and star quality and understanding of television is really extraordinary, especially considering it's his first year in the WWE and his first year in the North American style of wrestling.

I think Alberto Del Rio is the real deal and he's the closest thing we have to Chris Jericho at this stage in that he's a journeyman wrestler, legitimate tough guy with a lot of charisma and personality. I hope we see him given a push into the main event this year and let him have some high profile feuds with The Undertaker or maybe even John Cena.

Yes I agree completely, something tells me we'll see Del Rio vs HHH at WM though. If that turns out to be the case, I sincerely hope Del Rio wins.

In other news...

According to sources, with the return of Scott Steiner at last night's iMPACT! tapings, it appears that TNA is building to the return of the Main Event Mafia. Kurt Angle will likely lead the stable, and Dixie Carter may also be involved as they battle Immortal.

There is no word on if Booker T will be brought back. He had been in discussions to return to WWE, but the negotiations broke down. Both sides remain on good terms.
Oh goody, just what we all wanted to see.

Haha yeah that was in one of the Bushidos I got when in the UK last year. Love that he fought in a mask.

He's awesome, though. I don't really watch wrestling any more and there are almost no good promo guys any more, but he's so watchable.

Christ, have seen that fight before but wasn't aware that was Del Rio, never made the connection. Been a fan of his since he came to WWE but got so much more respect for him now, anybody that lives after being hit by a Cro Cop LHK is a monsterous badman imho.

Yeah that's what I thought as well, looks just like him. Apparently he is Welsh which is  imho

Yes, not too bad. I just feel that it is a shame that this new Nexus has just one original left in it. It sort of eliminates the 'Nexus' aspect of the group. If someone like Tarver, Sheffield or Young is brought in, though, then I feel the problem could be resolved.

Just stick Smackdown on for your original Nexus.

I reckon it's all part of some grand plan. The 'greater purpose' that Barrett has mentioned a few timea.

And yeah, Mason Ryan is just Batista isn't he?

Not sure whether you guys have checked this out, but here is a link to a bloody good Chris Jericho interview. He goes into huge detail here about his last stint in WWE, the evolution of his character, his ability to entertain and his future in wrestling. A must read for all Chris Jericho fans which is pretty much everyone in this thread. It's been said before, but he's such a legend. One of the greatest of all time.

Will definitely be getting the Jericho book, have been looking forward to it for ages, ever since I finished the first one really.

Saw an interview with him the other day, seems like he's going to be staying away from wrestling for quite some time, which is sad indeed. But, the fact that he has other interests in life and isn't obsessed with wrestling and cementing his own legacy just makes me like him more somehow, WAG. Hope we see him again one day, which I imagine we will.

I tweeted him and asked if he was gonna come back for Wrestlemania. He ignored me. He broke my heart
