India are never outplayed are they?
I said it before the match and the toss.

ANd would have said the same if India had won the toss and won the match.

In fact i though usually am not a betting person ,as soon as South Africa won the toss i made a decently big bet with my friend on SA winning.

He was very confident of the Indian win but wasn't aware of the conditions and I won.:)

u really think our bowling of such kind would have kept the proteas from chasing any damn target? :-O
Go and watch India vs England 2003 world cup match that was played day night at durban.

All the bowlers specially nehra was swinging it a mile.

Even Kenya bowlers were immensely difficult to face in a day nighter there.

Haha people say this after every Durban D/N. It's funny because the "better team" and the team that won the toss are the same team roughly 100% of the time.
Not at all, because the difficulty in batting second lies in the fact that the new ball is unbelievably difficult to get through under lights- something that was especially obvious in this particular match- Steyn at one stage bowled a length ball that went over Boucher's head for four byes.

Winning the toss almost certainly wins you the match in a Durban D/N, it's as simple as that- I know it would sound bitter coming from an Indian fan, and in a lot of cases it might well be, but it's the truth. You can definitely criticise their bowling for letting South Africa get a total that was comfortably more than they should have, but the actual result of the match is pretty meaningless beyond the fact that it won CW's unofficial betting syndicate more money.

Pretty much this.

And it is sad regardless of the result this happens every time and nothing is done about it.

To tell the truth I do not expect much from this Indian team in ODIs in SA especially on pitches which were offering so much help in the test series. Most of our younger players can do **** all when the ball bounces or swings. Kohli though has given me more hope for the future test team. Vijay looks totally woeful when the ball moves and I don't know if he has it in him to overcome his weakness against the swinging ball. Hope we win a couple of games in this tour though.

Just wondering bur do we seriously not have a single decent LO specialist opener? Every time there is a series where 2 (or even all 3) of our first choice openers are missing we either get Vijay (who is trash) or some makeshift opener like Denish Karthik.. Surely there is someone else out there who should be pushing to be selected when these kind of situations come up?

There's grounds in Sri Lanka that are stupidly skewed in D/N games as well aren't there? Might load up and get some free money at the World Cup.

There is one I think. It's either Dumbulla or one of the grounds in Columbo (can't remember which one).

but with the way bowling was happening in te 1st innings , i find it difficult

if we go for looking at old innings , i guess we can pick up a good number of matches where zaheer and nehra have done it for us

Whatever it takes!!!
WTF.. juz found out Albie Morkel may not make the RSA WC squad.. It is stupid. They are gonna rue this decision.. The guy is real value in ODIs...

At least ones who will be around when their team loses...
Haha. We've mastered the art of the bitter/tragic/stoopid loss. So I'll stick around.

As for Albie being left out of the WC squad, I completely agree with the decision. He's appalling with the ball and a rumour with the bat.

Edit: Anyone else think cricinfo is in dire need of a sub-editor? Every article has glaring mistakes in it.

Albie's a good solid #7 IMO.
