For me there's a huge difference between Cricketer and LO cricketer tbh. I'm not a fan of giving the former or latter part importance in rating cricketers. For instance, for me, Mike Bevan was an incredible LO cricketer, not a very good cricketer.

That's not really a meme though. Kallisball is a meme, bringing up Kallis randomly is a meme, but people saying he was a better cricketer than any specialist who played in the last 60 years or so is a valid and serious opinion.

There is no way to "prove" any one opinion better or worse than another but the poll in this thread seems to indicate that people are fairly evenly split on this issue.

Agree, for me assessing ODI cricketers comes under an entirely separate category. It's like Rugby & Rugby 7s IMO. Smacks of desperation trying to bring one-day cricket into the argument when we're assessing Test cricketers
