Cricinfo got the team wrong. Originally said Pathan was playing.

Playing Vijay ahead of Yusuf Pathan because we're in SA.
Don't rate Vijay in ODIs at all. Not a big Yusuf fan either by any stretch of the imagination, but at least he has a niche role.

I think India should have played him in Rohit Sharma's place. It is pointless playing Sharma, he has no chance of making the World Cup side (barring injuries).

Not sure how our part-timers will go in these conditions, I know they did well on a subcontinental-type wicket in the T20 but could backfire here.

Jono will be delighted to hear that old fat face Rob Key is bigging up Kholi (did compare him to Ravi Bopara though)

As is usually the case with part-timers, a lot will probably depend on how the other bowlers go. If Yuvraj and Raina get to bowl at relatively easy-going times when the opposition is looking to consolidate they'll do a fine job but if they have to come on when India are under the pump they'll go the journey here IMO.

We're bowling first? Is Ishant playing? I think I'll see this game, did not see the other LO match much.

Hmm, he actually does have a similar basic technique IMO, without the lazy shots and brain fades. I can see why he'd compare them.

Thanks.

I previously decided not to watch the 50 overs matches as I like seeing them but can do with missing them without feeling devastated(unlike the tests) and the WC directly coincides with the month I have my board exams and I did not want to be back to being in love with them again.

Oh well, Sachin's playing, I have an excuse.
