Howsie

Cricketer Of The Year
I'm trying to see what he has that made the selectors elevate him so quickly above the other FC five/sixes, especially considering we have about a million decent ones.

Looks all right, but nothing that screams pick him after a handful of games.
His emerging players tournament was exceptional tbf, he was the top run scorer in the tournament iirc.

John Wright loves him though, he was the only reason he got into that team in the first place.

tbf he was picked because he has been killing it here

AFAIK it's true that he basically wasn't going to make FC cricket in Australia so came to NZ, knowing he was eligible to play for us. Can anyone confirm or deny this brief life story? Because I don't really like it.
In a handful of FC games, and not 20/20.

If he knew he wasn't good enough for Aussie FC cricket, then he's wasting his time trying to play for NZ, unless he wants to be remembered like our test openers are.

I'd have him over Smith and Hughes.

I checked his record and it was good in all forms iirc. cbf checking.

You've lost me with the second sentence, he's already made the team and proved the point!

Given your openers, you seriously would not pick Hughes?

I mean if he's not good enough for Aussie FC, he has no hope in hell in international cricket.

Which makes me suspect the story is slightly wrong. Reckon he thought he wouldn't play for Aussie.

On the plus side for an ND fan, gives McGlashan a chance to show he can play a solid innings and cement his World Cup place ...

Well I'm very biased against him, sooo...:p

T Mac stays at the crease longer, and looks not terrible, unlike Hughes.

Of course we would pick Hughes, but is Brownlie an opener? No. Don't take tongue in cheek comments seriously ffs. And get your ass into gear when it's your pick in CPL.
