A lot of that was from when he was a teenager. Fact remains in over 20 ODI innings, he averages 33 & strike at 92true, although tbf Ryder's domestic record indicates he is just bad at limited overs cricket
Blame the BCCIThat looked way too high live IMO.
Well I'd like to see him bat four or five in ODIs, really, but it's obviously not practical as Taylor has a lock on #4 and New Zealand have Styris, Elliott and Williamson who are all most suited to five themselves. I'd bat him at three too. Seeing him open with Guptill bat three really annoys me TBH.I'm not sure how many List A games he's spent opening, but I would like to give him a crack at three and revoke his lisence to go for it. He ticks along at a very good strike rate in tests so he *should* be able to bat 'properly' in ODIs and still be all right.
I hope he get's a run in the ODI's tbh, I doubt he will though, sadly.Glad that Brownlie hasn't started well, don't want to end up like England with a whole lot of imports, looks dire too imo

I'm trying to see what he has that made the selectors elevate him so quickly above the other FC five/sixes, especially considering we have about a million decent ones.Glad that Brownlie hasn't started well, don't want to end up like England with a whole lot of imports, looks dire too imo
