The run out was the turning point. I think that Afridi shouldn't open. HAfeez was excellent.

Umar Akmal never got going.

Nathan McCullum is making himself indispensable for the Kiwis in the limited overs formats.. his darts look kind of innocuous but he's done a good job lately.
The weird thing is, he doesn't even really bowl darts. He actually bowls quite slowly. There's just no genuine drift, dip or turn. He's a hack basically. Effective though; have to give him credit.

CW and the NZ posters think he bowls darts - but he varies his pace nicely. Just doesn't spin it much.

Reckon he has played in enough games to show his worth.

On another note - are the commentators actually at the game or just watching the game on TV from Auckland - each time a catch goes up they seem to have no idea that a fielder is camped underneath it until the camera pans down.

Yeah, I have a different definition of "hack" to most and I've got in some tedious debates about it before. To put it short - I don't mean he isn't an effective limited overs player when I call him that. :p As I said, he's been effective and you have to give him credit for that. A valuable member of the squad.

I think I am a harsh judge of interviews - but I think Ross Taylor gave an interesting interview.

Qn: Do you have any areas to improve upon for this game Ross

A: All areas we can improve upon.

Not really sure they can to be honest 180 odd is pretty good going. Bowling was fine. Maybe his own fielding could be improved.

Pretty standard really, he isn't going to say that they were perfect

My God, you really are taking it upon yourself to pick up Richard's role. He's not a ****ing hack. If you can't see drift or dip, then I'm not sure what games you are watching, and while his turn isn't regular, he does get enough balls to turn to cause problems for the batsmen.

CW living up to its reputation yet again of internet loudmouths overtly disparaging players who have reached heights the little keyboard warriors can only dream of.

Lump it? Is that it? Is that all you've got?
I'm here to post my thoughts and opinions about cricket; not get into pissing contests with members who clash with me, so you're not going to get me to bite hard at your constant little snipes. I'm now aware you think Nathan McCullum is an exponent of drift and dip; thank you for your input. As for the rest, I'm not going to lose any sleep.

I'm here to post my thoughts and opinions about cricket;

Thoughts and opinions which are becoming more and more extreme by the month.

As for my thoughts on McCullum's bowling - I've seen a hell of a lot more of it than you have, so I'll stick with my opinions on it.

I can't help but see pakistan as suss now, that shezed wicket looked like he wanted to be caught swinging wildly like that and giving three catches in a row, then that akmal runout.....
Meh, who honestly cares about a T20 match ? The only thing that matters in T20 is the T20 World Cup, and Pakistan are one of the only three teams to have won it.

NZ is dominating Pakistan without their key players.. A good sign considering that they might soon be losing the services of Vettori...
