Not as unlikely as most would hope.If Punter is out what are the chances of North coming back at 3?

I think against England he does to be fair. He's been pretty poor against us in all formats, I don't think it's a coincidence that Johnson being a wrecking ball to England's middle order happened when he swung the ball. England seem to have Johnson sussed when he doesn't swing it, and are better than most at making him look ordinary. No doubt, but it doesn't really matter. If he takes wickets, which he does, then he's performing well, no matter what he looks like. People tend to over-react on the rare occasion he doesn't take wickets because then they look at how he bowled - which rarely looks good, but is usually effective. Hilfenhaus conversely can take no wickets for three Tests and people just say he's unlucky. There's only so long you can be lucky or unlucky; after it happens for three years you have to face facts.
Johnson doesn't have to swing the ball and look threatening to actually be threatening, and having a bad game shouldn't see him dropped just because people don't understand how he manages to do what he does.
thanks for just bringing a frown to my face for the first time today. If Punter is out what are the chances of North coming back at 3?
They'll stick with Beer. They're not going to drop him after him not actually playing at all.will the selectors stick with beer for melbourne, or bring in 'ritz?
and (seeing that a spinner should be selected), which pace bowler gets dropped?
na i think any idiot - even the selectors - would realise the positivity that the team has played with in perth, and would probably gofor the less negative option of having some new blood. Not as unlikely as most would hope.
I'm not sure who he is, he is entertaining though.Who is he? Was hilarious watching him.
At the same time he's on a run of 7 Tests now where's he's contributed nothing with the bat for Australia - while I agree that dropping him would be stupid, he's getting close to the point where if his form doesn't pick up he should be looking over his shoulder. It's fashionable to blame Clarke. Pretty much the litmus Test of knowing what you're talking about when it comes to Australian cricket - if you think Clarke should be dropped you're a numpty.
Would surely have to be Hilfenhaus? If they drop a pacer, Siddle would surely be the man to go?
Suspect they'll stick to all-out pace though. Hope so.
AWTA.Bring back Bollinger.
Would say Hilf has looked better than Siddle hereWould surely have to be Hilfenhaus?
The only existing footage of Hilfenhaus taking wickets is in black and white, and is preserved in the archives as it's so rare.Would say Hilf has looked better than Siddle here
A solitary 80 in 7 Tests (iirc he didn't do anything with the bat against Pakistan or India) isn't a great contribution from your number 4, particularly if you look at the circumstances of his dismissal.Last test he contributed... unless you count a contribution as a hundred.

Saw the replay. Definitely a run second last ball IMO.
People like this are why i hate australians. You can't bum johnson even though he was rubbish last test and then say something like this about Graeme Swann when he has a single bad innings. You are awful human beings.tell him im also not impressed by the pile of rubbish he bowled today (and in brisbane)
matchwinner after that ****?HAAAAHAHAHAHAH
well done sitting at ur computer generalising and getting all hot and bothered and judging someone based on a comment. enjoy watching us pound the hell out of u stinking poms tomorrow. toolPeople like this are why i hate australians. Ignore the massive generalisation.
