What you describe is not hypocrisy.

They've been given plenty of credit anyhow, they bowled well. Won't take anything away myself.
No, the hypocritical thing is some English posters moaning about the likes of social and SoC refusing to give England credit when they play well and then doing the exact same thing now.

Posters from both sides have over-rated the impact of their own team's performance on the outcomes, particularly when they've been losing. Definitely not talking about you, FWIW, but it's happened with lots from both sides throughout the whole series.

Ponting abusing the sub fielder rule. The **** seemed fine when he came back at the end.
The poor old sub had no idea what to do when everyone was jumping around after Smith took the catch. He just stood there awkwardly trying to high 5 people

Yes, because your performances in the 4th and 5th Tests of the series are always exactly the same as the your performances in the first three. Ponting's still faaaaar more likely to make a significant impact on the match than his replacement, unless Corey Richards or Greg Mail come out of retirement.
Apparently Greg lives on the same street as I do. Shall I ask him to?

I don't know, I support India buddy. Go ask an Australian cricket fan.

Don't blame me for calling it like I see it. Those denying that Ponting captained well that session are idiots.
Fair play here. Ponting's usually pretty ****, and I thought he didn't do great first innings either with some of his plans/fields, but today he was spot on. Used his bowlers perfectly and set good, attacking fields.

Tell him I have his old wicket keeping gloves if he wants them back.

Don't get me wrong Australia have been absolutely excellent in this Test and outplayed us in every session bar the first on day 1. I'm only referring to the fact that if we'd have applied ourselves properly in the final session we wouldn't be 5 down. But hey ho, that's what England do best.

And don't play the hypocritical card, how many of you crims were saying it was poor batting rather than good bowling that cost your lot at Adelaide?
In the first innings it was undoubtedly awesome (unplayable) bowling by Johnson, so the batsmen can't really be at fault there. I admit though some of the batting so far in your second innings was lousy. Pietersen being the obvious example - worst shot of the series tied with Clarke's I think. Collingwood was a bit lazy at the end as well. But Cook, Trott and Strauss all got pretty good deliveries.

I can't wait to get revenge in the ODI series again just like last time. Let's face it, that's what counts.

Apart from the form of Collingwood and the fact that Bell is wasted at 6, the other issue is that England's key bowler, Swann, really hasn't bowled all that well in the series thus far (excepting the second innings at Adelaide). Hussey seems to have a real ascendancy over him and his sudden lack of reliability means that Strauss now has a real headache - especially considering Finn's tendency to bowl tripe and Broad's injury. He suddenly just has Anderson and Tremlett.

Collingwood's was a classical Collingwood dismissal. Good length, bit of nip away and Collingwood is stuck in his crease, edges to 3rd slip.

seriously, let me rephrase.

a test where your guys played excellently, and australia just didnt come to the party, and played literally at about 10% capacityand had no plans.

if theyve learnt their lesson, adelaide wont happen again. The teams are very evenly matched.

Some just don't understand the pressures of Test cricket.

Test cricket isn't just a test of who can swing the ball the furthest. It is also a test of who has the mental capability to stand up in a high pressure environment. This last session was a high pressure environment, the Australian bowlers placed the ball in the right areas to expose cricketers unsure of the situation, and the English batsman cracked.

Kevin Pieterson may have been dismissed from an innocuous deliveries outside off-stump. The delivery that dismissed him doesn't matter. It's the fact that the game was in a tight situation after the loss of a couple wickets, and the naturally aggressive Pieterson was looking for bat on ball after only scoring 3 from 22 deliveries.

Actually I've cooled down now.

Probably the worst thing is that two of our batsman are supposedly in the form of their lives, another two have just scored 100's (or 200's) in their previous game and Strauss was supposedly in the form of his life in the freaking warm-up games. I want to know exactly what happened up there to make us wilt so feebly despite all of this being in our favour. I mean all of the guys I've mentioned before got out for nothing, except Bell - and even he hasn't got to the middle yet.

And don't get me wrong, I'm not taking everything away from your bowlers but still cannot get over the fact that we're five down already on a pretty good pitch.

Yeah i'm not talking any credit away from your first innings bowling performance. I said at the time that I couldn't really blame England because Johnson was just inspired. But I can't say the same for this final session. Fair enough if you bowl well you get wickets, but I think most of the wickets fallen tonight could have been avoided. We just batted lazily.

Yeah, defo happening in some cases. I've probably been the one giving them the most **** for it though. We've been outplayed thus far and I'll give the filth credit for that. Although you did say you weren't talking about me lol.

Where's GIMH the little **** when you want him
Been posting in here all day...
