*Official* Third Test at the WACA

It'd take him a bloody long time for him to lose us the match given how he's bowled 7 overs for 5 runs.

England would need more than 2 days at that rate.

I'd like Hilf to maybe pitch it up slightly more and I don't think the commentators suggestion of using the crease is a bad one...but when he's not going for many and is keeping it tight I can't see the issue.

Mate, that's not tight bowling. That's ineffective bowling which KP didn't have the brains and the patience to see out.
And yet Hilfenhaus has given away next to no runs. Isn't that the definition of "tight"?

I mean if he'd gone for 30 runs off 9, yeah maybe. Even if it was 20.

But 9 overs for 9 runs - that's tight bowling.

With Hilf sitting on a length on/outside off, it allows Ponting to instruct the bowlers at the other end to go all out and attack. It's ideal control when you've got penetrating bowlers at the other end.

No, disagree. That's bowling you can safely leave alone. Tight bowling is bowling that makes you play but gives you little when you look to score and make runs. Most of Hilfenhaus' deliveries up to that point didn't demand anything from the batsman than the easy leave. That's ineffectual bowling.

That said, he is bowling a little better now though after that wicket, as I said. At least he is making them, Trott especially, play more often.

Lets just say it would be handy if he could be a little bit more threatening.
ok a good economy rate- hes not doing a jonson in brisbane. but still, majority is ineffectual.

Anyway go **** over Lawry and Greig just because you grew up with them, which means they must always be good... you ****!
